Whitney Houston's father, John Houston, died Sunday after a lengthy battle with diabetes and heart disease.
Houston died at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, said Nancy Seltzer, a family spokesperson. She said Houston's health had been deteriorating for several years, and that he had been in and out of the hospital a number of times recently.

"The entire family is greatly saddened by the loss of someone they all loved so much," Seltzer said.

At one time, Houston managed the career of Whitney's mother and his ex-wife, Cissy Houston. She sang with The Sweet Inspirations, a backing vocal group to artists including Aretha Franklin.

In addition to Whitney, John Houston is also survived by two sons, Gary and Michael. John Houston was 82.

Whats worse is I've been told that Whitney's daddy passed away when he was still in bad terms with her, I hope its not true. Anyway,,,lets send our heartfelt prayers to the Houston family, god knows how much they need that

Last year,he sued her $100 Million,so yeah,I guess it's safe to say that they weren't on good terms.

I know this is probably rude to ask, but what happens to that lawsuit? I don't think it was dropped? Can his family sue?

if His Lawyers or whomever has the Power of Attorney of His Estate might still go through.but I bet there will be a Out of court Settlement.
