compared to her contemporaries: Britney Spears, Kesha, Katy Perry, Beyonce and Rihanna yes, she's an amazing singer lol

Now hold up... talk to the hand Beyonce may be sometimes pushed on some people but she's a better voice. lol Just saying.

Thank you!

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Someone should tell this girl to humble herself. It'll be funny to see her reaction once the love dies down. She'll probably be all suicidal for her "little monsters".

But she's not even one of them and she needs to earn respect, not demand it with egotistical claims.

...Average? Really? So like, most people walking down the street sound like her in the shower? lol

Am I really a fan of hers per se? No - I only liked "Just Dance" and "Bad Romance"; I don't own any of her cds, and her public image is a bit off-putting to me, she acts out a lot for attention I think. But I have to give credit where it's due. She definitely does have talent - the girl has chops. If you get a chance, look for her Pokerface acoustic on YouTube.

When she said she's one of the greatest - as long as she meant among this newer crop of stars, then that wasn't arrogance so much as accuracy; a lot of these newer artists have little to no actual musical talent.

To me she's pretty average and generic as a singer. I wouldn't say she has chops. Someone like Jennifer Hudson has chops, not Lady Gaga.

She has a fantastic rock voice. She could do any song P!nk does, for sure. She doesn't have the range of Mariah or Beyawnce, but she's got a strong voice and has an ear for melody.

I didn't say she had the most extraordinary voice, ever.

But...there's no way her vocal talent is just 'average'. To me vocally she's around Christina Aguilera level-ability, and we all know Christina A can blow.

Again, Gaga isn't an incredible vocal talent. Her range isn't exceptional nor is her tone unique.

That clip is nothing compared to what Xtina does when she's in her element and not screaming like a rabid clown. It's laughable that you would even compare her to Xtina as a singer. There's a reason why Gaga hides behind all the flashy costumes and dramatic make-up, you know?

Yeah - you somehow missed all the notes she sang besides the "Oh Oh Oh"s? lol

Just admit you have a Lady Gaga bias or something.

Because you aren't coming from a rational place with this at all. Like her music and image or not, fine, but why throw shade and deny her talent.

Actually, no, what is the reason? Because I could name about 2 dozen artists who hide behind flashy clothes and still have pipes. (Hint: Prince is one of them.)

Honestly - this whole exercise is a waste of time.

They came in this thread purely with the intent to hate on this girl. We could throw up a billion links that show Gaga could sing and they'd still just focus on the ad-libs and somehow conveniently miss her actually singing her ass off.

Let them talk. Either way it doesn't really matter. Gaga has plenty of fans and she's laughing all the way to the bank, despite some random ppl on the net talking shit about her. lol

And WTF is up with people on this site assuming that people are biased just because they don't see eye to eye with them on a certain artist? falloff

When did I deny her talent? She's a great pianist but she's NOT a great singer and songwriter. That's my opinion. You can take it or leave it. It really doesn't matter to me.

It's weird, because I would think Prince fans would almost relate to Lady Gaga in a similar fashion because of how she carries herself (which, in my opinion, isn't too far off from how Prince did).

Makes you wonder what people are afraid of when a girl can present music in a fashion a bit to the left of center and still has a definite aesthetic of her own. I can't even take people seriously when they say she doesn't have an impressive voice. I've seen her belt in person while dancing routines more complicated than Prince on his best day. That's talent and impressive to boot.

At this point I kinda think this is all about them just not liking her and wanting to downplay her abilities and not give her credit because of that.

Which is...stupid, frankly. There's a lot of musicians whose work I don't like, that I can admit, do have talent.

It's just immature and needlessly petty.

Theres a lot artists I can admit that about too, but she's not one of them. She's a gimmick. And a badly contrived one at that. Thankfully, a lot of people seem to be disliking the new song. Yaaaaay!

Well, okay. You feel how you feel. Ultimately this whole thing is subjective, anyway. But to me she was spot on with her comment and can sing her ass off when she's so inclined.

I somehow doubt she's crying into her soup over what any of us think of her voice one way or the other, anyway.

Ugh, the one time I tried to watch one of her live performances, I found her voice so annoying I had to turn it off and haven't listened to her since (at least on purpose).

So maybe it should be "I have one of the greatest annoying voices in the Industry". lol

Think you guys. I don't think she completely meant vocally, she's not THAT crazy. I think she may have meant as far as speaking out on subjects that other people in the industry really don't delve into.

Just my 2 cents.

In that case, I think she is one of the greatest "voices" biggrin

She needs to qualify this statement for me. What industry is she referring to? The white Pop/Dance industry? Clearly, from a musical standpoint (as she stated) she cannot mean the music industry that includes these singers:

Ledisi

Leela James

Erykah Badu

Jill Scott

Chrisette Michele

Lalah Hathaway

Adriana Evans

And though I am not necessarily a fan of these singers:

Jennifer Hudson

Fantasia

Beyonce

Finally, from a white Pop/Dance standpoint Xtina has her faded as well.

Meaning? Prince may not be Luther Vandross or someone, but he can sing and unlike Gaga, he has a unique, instantly recognizable voice. He also has one of the best falsetto's in the biz and a diverse range.

As far as Gaga is concerned, it's not about being a "hater". She does have talent. But she's the one saying she has one of the greatest voices in the industry and perhaps considering the lack of talent in the business these days, that could be true.

But to say Lady Gaga is a great vocalist or on the level of Christina Aguilera is completely laughable. Lady Gaga is an okay singer. She could never pull off a song like "Impossible" or "Walk Away" like Christina A. She just doesn't have the vocal chops for it.

Her voice sounds the same on every song anyway. She doesn't have great range or a unique tone at all. She is certainly not one of the greatest singers. I don't know who some of you Gaga fans are listening too, but when I listen to Gaga, I hear a singer who is a bit above average, but that's it.

Gaga's voice=A dime a dozen. I'll go to any karaoke bar or turn on American Idol and hear a million singers who sound just like her.

A generic vocalist if i've heard one.
