When was Queen Ree a schoolteacher? Ok so I'm listenin' to the Queen's Greatest Hits CD and in the intro to one of live performances this dude says something like she was a Washington DC schoolteacher but is better known as the Queen of Soul.
I was like WTF? When in the hell was Ree Ree a schoolteacher? I thought she was a superstar in her teens and has been performin' since then. Did this guy mix the Queen up with someone else? |

Aretha was never a school teacher. He got it confused with singer Roberta Flack, whom at one time was a school teacher.

Sting and J.T. Taylor from Kool & The Gang also started out as teachers. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton |

Damn, I wonder if Aretha kicked his ass for getting her confused with Roberta Flack, like she did when Beyonce called Tina Turner the Queen at the Grammys a few years ago. |
