My favorite pop vices

- "Anywhere For you" (Backstreet boys)

- "Oxygen" (Spice Girls)

- "If Ever You're In My Arms Again" (Peabo Bryson)

- "Hello" 5lionel Richie)

- "If You're Not The One" (Daniel Bedingfield)

- "Need You Tonight" (INXS)

- "Candle In The Wind" (Elton John) ... I think the lyrics are awsome though

- "Like You" (Bow Wow & Ciara lurking)

- "I Need You" (3T)

- "That's What Friends Are For" (Elton john, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick)

- "The Arms Of Orion" (Prince)

- "Un-break My Heart" (Toni Braxton)

I really dig it too, but it is rather corny. It IS Phil Collins!

The synth line is extremely similar to 1999 as well.

I take it you've never heard of the band Brand X or 1970's Genesis.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'm not talking abut Brand X or 70's Genesis.

I just think that a lot of Phil's catalog is rather corny! Solo work and later Genesis stuff.

"I Can't Dance"??? C'mon!

I love Phil Collins, but let's not act like he doesn't have any "Corn" in his musical diet!

The earlier comment is saying that it's corny by default because it's by Phil, like everything he's done is corny. Saying someone has made songs you think are corny is not the same thing as saying the act is corny. I don't consider Sussudio or I Can't Dance as corny.

Of course I Can't Dance is corny but you failed to talk about his classic stuff like

In The Air Tonight, One More Night, Another Day in Paradise, Easy Lover, and

my favorite I Wish It Would Rain Down.

Pickles, you are stealing my ideas. no no no!

When I mean corny I do not mean lame. When I say corny I mean stuff that is obviously corny but it's still good and I can honestly admit that the songs I like that are corny are still well written.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

funny how anything upbeat, positive and fun is now corny. I think all that navel gazing poor me crap from the 90s that was so "serious" is corny as hell.
