Musiq Soulchild will release his sixth studio album Musiqinthemagiq on May 3rd.

The set, which follows 2008’s ‘OnMyRadio,’ is lead by the first single “Anything” featuring producer/rapper Swizz Beatz. The track is currently sitting well on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

“I don't think of it as reinventing myself. The best way I can put it is, every time I put together a project, I think of it as my first project,” Musiq recently said about the new effort. By doing it that way and thinking that way, it helps me to keep things fresh. It keeps me grounded."

"I think people really appreciate that humility, that way they're running with you. When you come across like you got it in the bag, people have a way of not responding to cockiness like that. Plus, that's not the kind of person I am anyway. So I just keep it straight up, I mean y'all could not care right now but if y'all still do here you go, I got some more music for you.”

Musiq is currently touring with Ledisi and Kem after replacing El DeBarge.

I like Musiq but the first single does nothing for me. Tired worn out sample.

I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a whole Musiq cd since Juslisen and Soulstar.

jeidee

saw this dude a few weeks ago at a show in miami..... BORING.

he is likely the dullest live performer i ever seen, comin out looking like carlton banks and singing all diva-y. his act was ridiculous and corny... and his new single sounded way out of place with the rest of his material.

AND im bout sick of seeing acts live that have 'horns' on their tracks and use keyboards to mimic the horn sounds live. get a damn brass section or stop fronting.
