Dumb ass with a death wish in mind. I laughed so hard the first time I heard about this, Mary said "Oh no doll, its early in the goddamn morning for this shit, get your hand off my face before I bite it off" evillol

I wish Christina keeps it up, hopefully the Yonkers blood will get the best of Mary and we wouldn't have to hear about this annoying lil' trollop ever again lurking

It's not really a policy but they strongly advise singers to use pre-recorded vocals so there won't be any mishaps.

I'm glad she butchered it though.

This song needs to die a trip-fall-and-break-a-neck death already.

I don't see why everyone is dogging her. I thought she brought down the house with her version of the national anthem. At least she put her soul into it. Besides.... that was no lip synch. That girl can blow!!!

I dont take things like national anthems seriously.but christina should be cut some slack.Americans are incredibly sensitive and never cut people slack over a goof up or a moment of stupidity.

I saw players who made mistakes during the game, too, and half of them were named superbowl champions.

I'm no xtina fan, but it could happen to anyone. Anyone who sings live, that is!

Yeah, I don't get the Christina hatred either - people act like she did something to one of their family members, or something.

And all the 'She was an asshole to this or that person' talk is really just unsubstantiated gossip, too.

Yeah, I didn't think it was bad at all! Christina's voice is very soulful. She's a great singer. Sure she had a few rough spots but overall I thought she did well.

And at least she was way better than that chick from "Glee" who sang The Star Spangled Banner.

At the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago Aretha Franklin sang the National Anthem and flubbed the words. There was negative comments, number one about her less than traditional rendering of it, and the flub of the lyircs.

Ditto for Jose Felciano, Marvin Gaye and the two most wretched delivies of all-time: Carl Lewis and Roseanne Barr.

Whitney Houston's version was pre-recorded, ditto for the version Aretha did at the NBA Finals (even though she denied it as she does everything else, LOL).

I thought Christina did okay, better than the recent version Anita Baker did.

^ It's interesting... I remember thinking about what someone said about Stevie saying Marvin was actually banned from TV because of his version of the anthem but that's not exactly true. He performed at the Grammys just days later and was at Motown 25. lol But he was sure criticized for his rendition. Marvin was actually quite the controversial star of his time for many years so of course he got both positive and negative headlines for the performance. About 20 years later, however, EVERYBODY AND THEIR MAMA was like "that's the greatest rendition I ever heard!" AGAIN, another case of giving someone their roses when they can't smell 'em. lol

As for Ree, yeah she did flubbed, but at the time America was engulfed in such a war with the public (riots and all) that whatever criticism went her way went out the window. They talked about it so little afterwards, it was quite forgotten. Somehow, they want to make this the top story of the day and FOR WHAT?! That reminded me of how everyone talked about the Janet thing and it went on for months. rolleyes It's called "media distractions". bored2 Whatever.

Me neither, both his and Jose's.

But Jose had it bad, boy, didn't he? disbelief War veterans throwing their shoes at the TV set, calling the networks and raising hell. It didn't help that it was during the hight of Vietnam war.

I don't know why the hell people were paying attention to someone singing the National Anthem in the first place. If I were the type of person that was into football, that period would be either a refrigerator or bathroom break for me.

It really trips me out how every year, people go on TV shows for days afterwards and talk about every little small detail that happened during the "Super Bore" game even down to commercials. I mean, they go stark crazy over commercials of all things. These motherfuckers are desperate for entertainment these days. lol

I don't turn on the TV until the actual game starts. I just want my football, fuck that other shit. I don't even watch the commercials.
