Prints

she was a nice product, but her vocals are very thin and she can't compete with younger stars (whom some also have the looks, but not much musical talent) not much longer.

i know her music was just a fad of 99/2000's but i think she did good making a name for herself to say she started off as a back up dancer

Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969),[1] often nicknamed J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer and television producer

Jennifer Lopez Accomplishments
Lopez was the first Latina to get paid over a million dollars for a project.
Lopez was the first Latina actress to star in a leading role in film since Rita Hayworth retired in the 1970s.
Lopez is (in 2003) the highest paid Latina actress in Hollywood.
Jenny Lopez's first album On The 6 was 8 times platinum.
Lopez's first single "If You Had My Love" was #1 for more than 9 weeks.
Lopez is the first actress and singer to have a movie ("The Wedding Planner") and an album ("J.Lo") at #1 in the same week.
Lopez's second album J.Lo was 8.5 times platinum.
Lopez's third album J To Tha L-O! The Remixes was the first album of remixes to hit #1, because no other album of remixes had climbed the chart.
J to tha L-O!: The Remixes sold over three and a half million copies worldwide,[8] becoming the third best-selling remix album of all time, after Michael Jackson's Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix and Madonna's You Can Dance.

Lopez's perfume Glow made history in 2001, by being the #1 perfume in more than 9 countries in more than 4 months.
Lopez is the only woman who has been #1, 3 years in a row in the FHM list of the 100 Sexiest Females in the world.

Lopez was ranked the 27th Artist of the 2000–10 decade by Billboard.[5]

Lopez made the 2004 Fortune list of the wealthiest entertainers under the age of 40. Her wealth is estimated at $255 million.

Jennifer Lopez and Fashion
Lopez owns a clothing line called J.Lo By Jennifer Lopez. Her line is the most successful clothing line of artists on the industry market

That reminds me that she was really the first celeb to do the whole clothing line/perfume stuff, I remember Glow was massive when it was first released and was the best selling perfume until Britney took over with Curious or Fantasy.

She also accidentally kick started that whole hybrid name for couples trend with Bennifer.

AND also influenced that first letter of first name, few letters of last name nickname thing like K-Fed or SuBo. lol

Gag! It makes me wish Puffy never suggested she call the album "J-Lo". That shit is more than played out.

You really tried that.

Oh you again... LOL I knew that either you or seanman would jump on that, but whether you like it or not, with her being a singer and an actress, back in the day ('99 'til '01) she got more exposure, was more written about and got more attention than Janet. Of course though, she was a fad and nowadays no one is really talking about her anymore!

lol Because Of Janet.

2 B honest, now that I think about it...the whole R&B hype from the late '90's brings back great memories!

Yes, I liked J.Lo, especially the R&B songs/remix stuff....not so much Let's get loud or Waiting for tonight.

I'm still amazed how quick her music carreer went downhill because she really was on top...also in Europe. My fav: Jenny from the block and Love don't cost a thing.

it almost started the new age of celebrity, where music/movie/justin bieber type stars would ascend so fast it was almost like they were over before they began. She was around for awhile as a B list actress but once she started to go up...she rose SO fast that the crash and burn was inevitable. which sucks regarding her acting...i always thought (pre maid in manhattan, anyway) that she was a great actor.

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I could never stand JHo and her overrated stank ass. She used and exploited Black people to get to the top but once she got there that ho turned on the same damn folks who got her there in the first place. Bish wanted to be white so bad, even hoing herself out to lame ass Ben Affleck. I'm very glad that her career is pretty much done. She can go back to Telemundo or one of them Mexican channels to shake her nasty ass.

"Waiting for Tonight" was my jam!! music I liked her in "Selena" as well.

After "I'm Real" played TO DEATH on the radio, and the big deal that was made about her average "assets" I was through with her.

She needs to thank Ashanti for pretty much singing two of her hits.

she married Marc Anthony and did a Spanish album, so she tried that....

but I believe she is allowed to do whatever genre she wants....she grew up in an urban area so r&b, hip hop, latino music and whatever else she listened to were all her influences

I admite I had her first album.

But is J.Lo someone that anyone could ever really consider themselves a "fan" of? Even at the peak of her popularity? She's just one of these people what was inoffensively there.

^ I know what you mean, I didn't see her as an artist having a following, just liked her for being there....but was surprised when a classmate did a project on her in 2000 about her whole career up till that point. Mine was on Janet, MJ would take forever and though I knew a lot about him, I didn't want to research everything cause of limited time and I didn't have the confidence to answer questions about the controversies. Plus I felt that everyone knows MJ's stuff and Janet needed more props and was underrated in comparison.
