Agreed. I think America the Beautiful should be our national anthem instead, though I think they're both old English drinking songs. We should have an anthem with music that was written by, y'know, an AMERICAN! O_O

Yeah it always turns out to be this big build to an event that turns out to be a non-event. Between weak ass halftime shows(sorry but even that Prince HTS was overrated) and then the lame ass commercials every freaking year, and now the games are so damn boring, i mean alright this one was kinda close, but Green Bay and Pittsburgh? these two teams have less personality than Rihanna in an interview, this was a worse pairing than that world series last year, remember that one? The SanFrancisco Giants and Texas Rangers? I think they even forgot they were in it, it was that boring and bad. And now the national anthem? This is actually talked about? its easily the worst written song ever, that does nothing but praise war, no one knows what the fuck the words are or even mean cause they were written by a bunch of white-racist criminals, and yet we sing it like it had meaning? It has symbolic meaning and its like George Carlin said "Symbols are for the SIMPLE minded".

Honestly I knew the Super Bowl was gonna be boring. It's been boring for a long while.
Like hell! Saints VS. Colts was THE last great NFL SuperBowl game ever. And I'm not just saying that because I'm from Louisiana. I saying it because both teams (especially the Saints) took chances in trying to win the game.
In the case of Packers VS. Steelers, my disappointment was the Steelers' offense looking too conservative at times. And to make matters worse, the Packers were able to score points off of (almost?) all of the Steelers' turnovers.
Sorry VanDamn. I rooted for your Saints to win that game but it was not as exciting as the
previous two with the Steelers and Cards going down to the wire and the Pats-Giants Super
Bowl going down to the wire. The only boring SB of recent memory was the Colts-Bears
Super Bowl and a lot of that may have had to do with the sloppy weather that day.

Heres my BIG problem with the SuperBowl, you play the whole year in the elements and then play in a NEUTRAL location???What the fuck dumb ass shit is this??? How is it fair that say a team that goes 16-0 like New England did a few years back plays the giants who were what 10-6 something like that, whatever, and has to play in some warm ass dome stadium, WTF??? This game should have been played in whomever had the better record thats how every sport is/should be, whats with this crap that people only incertain states get to host a superbowl, SHIT, play that shit in a snowstorm, if these cats are supposed to be tough men , act like it!
Although not a Superbowl game, there was a NFL Championship game in 1967 that did take place in an outdoor stadium. It was even nicknamed "The Ice Bowl" because of the winter wind, snow, AND ice that were involved at the time.
We will never have a Superbowl game in the snowy weather unless the NFL scheduled the game somewhere in Canada, maybe!
We'll see how the game in the Meadowlands in NJ works out......

I don't think she sounded bad at all. As far as messing up the lyrics, so what? Artists who have been in the game a lot longer than she has do it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Chaka Khan screw up a lyric, to her own songs!

heh heh... michael never sang that song in his adult life... he was that anti-war, i guess... and after how this country treated him, i could see him not doing it.
