I've always loved these clips. They stand as testimony for all those who didn't get to see him live.....what a showman he was.

So much talent & charisma. It was infectious & you can feel that watchin these. What a loss for us all.

I miss Roger Troutman very much. He was very special & SO MUCH fun to party with live. Just no other live experience quite like what he could deliver.

That routine (circa '85) when he would start the show strolling in from the back of the crowd.....working his way toward the stage......."machine gun" guitar in hand, wearing a silver plated riot helmet & just playing his ASS off. Crowds just went nuts.

We prolly won't see his likes again.

The way he dominated the stage reminds me of Little Richard, both of the gave this same energy, I can't describe it.

Watching these clips, I just hope Hip-O compiles a list of performances from Zapp/Roger and release them in a DVD, the same way they did for Curtis, Rick James & The Supremes.

Or at least, release a live album from their early 80s shows.

Roger is one of my friends idol. He knows one of his relatives, a neice or a female cousin. I don't remember which. He was the one who told me about the family's construction business years ago. I didn't know anything about that. I just thought they were just a group.
