One of my fave performances of that song.

I'm not sure who but somebody has to get it together and put these classic performances on a dvd. It blows my mind that this stuff is not available in the best possible quality for anyone to see!

I can't listen to that song anymore. It just makes me extremely sad.

A lot of people heard it for the first time at MJ memorial service (or remember it in "Poetic Justice"). The song's been covered by - Joan Baez, Nana Mouskouri, and...
Phil Collins recently on that "Going Home" tribute to the 60s (he had a few obscure picks on that CD), and he did a pretty good job on it.
I've been listening to this one lately. Was still a teenager when he did this! I think the Stones and the Jackson 5 had covered it...

The Stones did in fact cover it. The song snuck out on the Metamorphosis compilation that was released in 1975 and it's also on the Singles Collection: The London Years box set.
I believe the Stones version was recorded circa 1969.

Stevie was 17 when he wrote this song (of course he was 18 when he recorded it).
