Any Megadeth/ Heavy Metal Lovers In Here?

Heavy metal was my first musical love, after getting into blues, jazz & soul i kind of stopped listening for awhile. I From time to time dig out my old metal cd's and Megadeth is one of the best

They have some incredible song's & there musicianship is in top form especially the Rust In Peace album some amazing solos on that one

I also love Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Motley Crue, Pantera, White Zombie, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Ozzy, Exciter, Vinnie Vincent, Mayham

Any other metal lovers?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Yeah, for all his personal demons, gotta admit, Dave was (is) a pretty damned shreddy guitarist.

I know of Megadeth and have heard their songs. From what I heard, they're good. And Dave Mustaine's definitely up there as far as rock guitarists go.

It seems that many heavy metal fans also tend to fans of blues and jazz as well. Though, I have no one band that I really like so I tend to listen to various artists. I just acquired Metallica's Metallica and Master of Puppets album that I'm still trying to get through. I do like Rammstein and Nightwish though, even if the former is more industrial metal rather than heavy metal and the latter is more symphonic/gothic.

You haven't really given reasons lol

I respect your opinion and i like Riot to but they have nothing on Dave Mustain, Chris Polland or Marty Freedman guitar wise.

In fact metallica have nothing on them either

Album has nothing but great track's and is one of the best heavy metal albums ever. It also has some jazzy esque breakdowns a few track's

Megadeth is one of the few 80s metal acts that has stood the test of time. Still alive & still popular. Peace Sells and Rust In Peace are stone cold thrash metal classics, and their 90-97 work was surprisingly consistent and enjoyable, more mainstream but still interesting. Mustaine, Ellefson, Menza and Friedman could do no wrong back then. I remember 1992, and all the hype surrounding Metallica, Megadeth, RATM, Pantera, GN'R, etc. good times...

The band (well, specially Dave Mustaine) hit rock bottom during the 99-03 years (crappy albums, fake injuries lol, fired band members) but 2004's The System Has Failed was a solid comeback, and now that Ellefson has returned, things can only get even better.

On top of that, Mustaine is one of the best heavy metal's songwriters/guitar players of all time; Metallica made the mistake of their lives when they "fired" him lol dunce

Right here! I've been a big Megadeth fan since high school and though I don't listen to metal much anymore, I've been on a big White Zombie kick this week. Some of their early albums are pretty bad lol!

I love megadeth and had the pleasure of seeing them perform Rust In Peace in it's entirety and it was awesome. I too love metal but not as much as I used to but I'll still go to shows, especially Slayer. I've seen them about 8 times and will continue to see them every time they come to Philly. Do you like Opeth?

I was a metal head in primary school(Elementary), i used to sports guns n roses bandanas to school. I loved being into rock like Gnr, Skid Row, Faith no More, Megadeth, iron maiden, Ministry etc etc when i was a youngster. I have such fond memories of covering my bedroom with posters, my jackets with rock patches and badgepins. Blasting music loud all day in my room as i played my Amiga 500. Those were the days smile

Can't really blame you for misreading the logo of Mayhem:

Not really into the early Megadeth stuff, but I love "Countdown to Exctinction" and "Youthanasia"! Those were the days! The high time of my Headbangers Ball watching days! Even though most Megadeth fans hate it, I also quite like "Risk"! A bit of a departure, but still a cool album! Also I think "United Abominations" was a great return to form.

Next month I will finally get to see a real Megadeth concert on the european carnage tour with Slayer! I had a ticket for their Youthanasia tour, but decided I had to see Janet (and meet her for the first time) on that day... yeah I know... I did see them later that year at a festival and again in '01 opening for AC/DC, even though I was late and missed half of it (still angry about that). Saw them again last year at the Sonispherefestival with Anthrax, Slayer and Metallica, but now is the time for a full concert! Looking foward to it.

While I love music in general, I also have to say that heavy metal/hard rock/whatever you want to call it, is my first love!

i have a somewhat weird relationship with metal. I used to be in love with symphonic metal and doom metal. this was when i was in middle school. my music taste kinda went somewhere else when i discovered the beauty of visual kei, goth rock, death rock, industrial and synthpop.

but yeah the bands i listen to sometimes are

my dying bride.

I like Megadeth, saw them on the Clash Of The titans tour 91 i think, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament and Megadeth. Great gig. Although Dave was high as a kite back then and spouting the 'I used to be in a band called Metallica' shit. thankfully he's stopped doing that now.

My personal faves are Countdown to Exctinction and So Far, So Good So What!.

cool

I'll see Megadeth and Slayer at the end of this month near my hometown, and I still can't believe that the first time I will get to see Judas Priest is on the farewell Epitaph tour hrmph (plus Motorhead and Saxon, this will be classic epic! horns). I know Rob Halford's voice has seen better days, but they're still the Metal Gods to me! wink
