"Sweet Thing" New Edition I love this song!! I remember in 1995 when I "rediscovered" this album, I always thought the music was very good! Especially the homonious keyboards...which are..either a sampled voice being played on a synthesizer...and the other kyboard (especially in the beginning)...what I used to think when I was little was ...someone throwing up...is actually another weird sampled structure..cant wuite make it out.
Anyway does anybody else love this tune?

Ah yes, produced by Dick Rudolph and Michael Sembello. Sounds like it's straight off the end crediits of a mid 80's kids movie. Really fun and opitmistic LOL.
One of the better tracks from "all for love". And yes, I really dig the production, keyboards etc..too. Sembello and Mr Rudolph are always slick though, particually when it cool to be this slick like the mid 80's LOL. Ask Novrbreaker for info on what parts of this song were created by a fairlight or a synclavier or whatever. That ethereal, echo keyboard on the chorus sounds like a fairlight though? And the intro note on the sax solo sound programmed aswell (odd I know). The track is almost AOR is structure though. It feels as though it should be a bit faster?
Thanks for reminding me of the track Paisley. Havn't heard the album is ages.
Despite George Tobin also producing the original, the cover version he produced of "with you all the way" is to me, much better then the original version. The vocals are better, and the production, even though just as cheesy, is preferred aswell
(don't ask why the video is foghorn leghorn) [Edited 2/3/11 17:58pm] | |
