Teena Marie & Taylor Dayne -- should have happen within 1988-90 when the genres new jack swing & latin freestyle were popular on FM radio.

Janet Jackson & Kylie Minogue -- one badass chicago house or french house inspired dance-pop track is all it would take for THIS duet to work!

David Bowie & Lady Gaga -- are they long lost father & daughter? No. But either way, THIS is still a highly anticipating duet of the generations.

Donna Summers & Katy Perry -- this duet would have the potential to reinvented disco (renaming it neo-disco!) if the right electronic dance producer is involved.

Madonna & George Michael -- imagine a sound mash-up mix of Freedom '90 AND Don't Stop, but as a fresh new track.

Michael Jackson & New Edition -- should have happen during the makings of the History album in the early to mid 1990's. This alliance would have been history in the makings.

Prince & ?????????? -- I think THIS would be too difficult to figure it out. No matter who you match the royal badness with, it will still sound like a Prince track instead of a Prince featuring _______ track.

Prince and Danny Elfman in a real collaboration

Prince and Phil Collins - it would be great to hear what the men who came up with "In the Air Tonight" and "When Doves Cry" could have dreamed up together in the mid-eighties

Bending time a little, Elvis with the rest of the Traveling Wilburys

A gospel album with Little Richard and Elvis would absolutely kill.

Marvin Gaye and Peter Gabriel

Trent Reznor and Prince

really??? Gilberto is sooooooooo boring. If he ever collaborated with a MPB (brazilian Popular music) singer it should be Marisa Monte http://www.youtube.com/wa...qPLePz9DjI

hee hee... i LOVE gilberto gil!!! he is my all-time favourite guitarist... he collaborated a bit with STEVIE WONDER. gilberto gil has done everything from rock to jazz to traditional african music. i agree, some of his later stuff blows hot and cold (some of it is quite good); but his stuff in the 70s is phenomenal!

-STEVIE WONDER AND MICHAEL JACKSON (my two favourite artists of all times; they recorded together at several points, and the J5 even did an album's worth of stuff with STEVIE, but they never properly released anything together).

Just Good Friends & Get It

-herbie hancock

Herbie played on Jermaine Jackson's album called Jermaine (1980).

yeah, see, those two songs that michael and STEVIE did, i wanted them to do a PROPER ALBUM together, in full... not just songs here and there, like what happened with the 'you haven't done nothing' or 'buttercup'; 'we are the world', 'state of independence' (the donna summer song), 'all i do', bad or characters.

herbie and STEVIE also did stuff together, like 'chan's song', gershwin stuff, songs in the key of life, etc. but it would be nice to see a FULL ALBUM, as opposed to songs here and there. i was thinking more on those terms.

Michael Jackson & Diana Ross (I already know about "muscles" & "eaten alive" i want a duet )

Michael Jackson & Marvin Gaye

(and just a little extra)- I would've loved 2 c Michael Jackson & Fred Astaire on stage dancing together

'ease on down the road' would be an official duet...

Bobby Womack and Teena Marie. Well, no I had not really ever considered that, but Bobby and Teena did, thank goodness. Bobby is planning to release a cover they did of the classic 70s song With You I'm Born Again. (Yikes, that is quite a song to cover.) It appears to be a brilliant gesture as he plans on giving forwarding any proceeds from the sales to Alia Rose.

Delia Derbyshire & Stevie Wonder

Delia Derbyshire & Herbie Hancock

Roy Ayers & Whitney Houston

Hall and Oates & Teena Marie

Phyllis Hyman & Lisa Stansfield

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
