George Michael - Faith [Remaster]

I got my box set a few minutes ago and I'm impressed with the sound quality! Has anybody else received theirs yet?

I thought this was cancelled or postponed.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yes it was but they rescheduled it to be released on the 31st or the 1st in certain countries.

It was, but they postponed it to this month. It's rumored it was because of George's then-current run-ins.

It really is. I haven't had a chance to fully look at everything in it but the book is quite impressive.

It's nice, but I don't like the album enough to bother re-buying it again LOL.

Sound quality is a only a little bit improved over the original CD release, however.....

...two of the corner stones of the album is not in their best form: "Father Figure" and "One More Try".

The base on FF is too weak, and on OMT the remaster buries the hi-hat in the mix.

If you want the best sound on these two you should seek out the compilation "TwentyFive" which was released and remastered in 2006. It holds superior mixes that are more in line with the original release than the 2010-remaster (while still retaining an improved sound quality over the original CD).

I don't think TwentyFive was marketed as "remastered".

i don't get why they included fantasy (yet again) over other choices like IWYS monogamy mix...Fantasy wasn't even from that era as far as i remember..and it has been released as b-side in early 90's, then on two hits compilations...it ain't even a hit.

"Fantasy" was the b-side to "Freedom 90." It's probably his most popular b-side, which might explain its inclusion. Was it was written during the Faith sessions?
