Marrk, I watched this with an open mind, however the evidence was there for all to see. I am not jumping to the worst possible conclusion, there is evidence there. If he is indeed schizophrenic, which you did not defend, who knows what he could get up to. Re-read my entry and please come up with alternative explanations to his behaviour, if you can without resorting to the naive 'he loves children, and wants to save the world'. The main point of my argument was not about sexuality, it was a signing off in response to others who were talking about it. My main point was that he is suffering, possibly from a psychotic illness, possibly without help and that is indeed sad.

Essence said: Cool, that's the opinion of you both. I just wonder if it would be possible to have this defence by a non fan? I am a follower of his music and I catch heat from some "fans" for my honest assessment of the documentary. I'm not a fan, but I'm not a hater either. I thought the article that Marrk posted was excellent and pretty much summed up my thoughts too. It's interesting that we all watched the same documentary but came out with different perspectives of the man. There's no right or wrong imo - we're all judging him by our own experiences I guess. One thing ... it seems the men here are more likely to have found the program disturbing. Is that true? A (male) friend of mine told me today that he finds it very difficult to even acknowledge children in a supermarket because he doesn't want their parents to think he's unduly interested in them, even though he's no paedophile. I just don't think that MJ has any concept of the real world, and therefore what pressures exist on men nowadays to behave in a certain (appropriate) way. Actually, I thought that the bits with his own children in were more disturbing than the question of whether he allows other children to sleep in his bed. I can understand him masking them in public, but I do wonder how that is going to damage them in later life. The trip to the zoo that became a paparazzi-fest was extremely concerning, especially given that he seemed oblivious to the potential dangers posed to the children. And then, when he was feeding his child and seemed high or at least extremely anxious - that was difficult TV to watch. The other question I would've liked Bashir to concentrate more on was whether MJ really does think he's immortal, or whether he is hoping to preserve himself in some way. I felt the interview fell short in some ways because it tried to sensationalise too much. I did feel for MJ and his children and I really found it touching in places. I hadn't realised before how close he does let some fans get to him (assuming, of course, that wasn't just for the cameras) and I hadn't realised his naivity and vulnerability before. I think he's a man who just wants to give and receive love, and I think we've got it wrong when we assume this means sexual love.

On subject of his own children, didn't Prince's blonde hair look a kind of fake shade? Looks like a dye job.

Hi Rasberry. My vcr died when it found out I wanted a DVD player and I have to work that evening. So, if anyone could put the bbc special on MJ and the Prince special I'll slide them a couple of bucks. cranshaw2003@aol.com

It was definately a dye job. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

It was definately a dye job. Right I thought it defintely was also. Just asked in case some MJ freak started whining about the mother's being naturally blonde. If the mother didn't bring the genes for the type of child MJ wanted the chemists shop surely did...

It's an unusual vanity when the boy is tiny and wearing a mask. Makes you think it was his father's choice rather than his own. Unless his kids are already wanting to change their own appearances?
