What's Going On & Innervisions

So i made a playlist of these 2 album's together, and they fit so perfectly with each other! Like incredibly well, i was only thinking imagine if these 2 did a collaboration? that would have been amazing to see...

Two fantastic albums and 2 fantastic artist's cool, and if you put it together as one its kind of an interesting listen

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Marvin played drums on Little Stevie's "Contract On Love" and "Fingertips" (the studio version and the live version too). He also co-wrote "Soul Bongo" for Stevie with Clarence Paul. Not really collaborations, but hey. They also did "Pops We Love You" together with some other artists.

I agree, I would have loved to see a true collab between the two when Stevie was a songwriting force. Both of them collaborating and performing together would've been awesome.

Stevie first performed "Lighting Up The Candles" for Marvin's funeral:

How funny you put these two albums together. I've always said of all the things I would wish to have ever happened musically, I would give a king's ransom to hear Marvin sing Jesus Children of America.

The groove, structure and message of the song would have been something Marvin could really feel. Just imagining the way he would have layed and stylized his backing vocals......

I'm surprised Gordy never thought about a Duets album featuring these two around 72-73 when they were Motown's biggest Artists and at their musical peaks. Funnily enough they were both working with the Supremes at the time, Stevie producing for the latest version of the Supremes, and Marvin doing a duets album with Diana. I'm guessing Marvin didn't want to get upstaged again by little Stevie but who knows...

Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..
