Favorite Jackson 5 album?

Since my "Favorite Jacksons album?" was a buig success, I thought I'd take back to the Jackson 5 this time on this thread (Not counting the Xmas, Greatest Hits and Goin Back To Indiana albums).

Skywriter. It sounds a bit like the 5th Dimension, and I like their music.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

In all seriousness if you wanna talk about as a whole album it's probably the Christmas one.

But out of the regular studio albums...the one with Little Bitty Pretty One. And I believe that's Lookin' Through The Windows.

In terms of consistency and cohesiveness, I'd pick Get It Together, Dancing Machine, or Moving Violation as my favorites. But Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5, ABC, The Christmas Album, Third Album, and Maybe Tomorrow are winners too. I still think that Get It Together and Dancing Machine are the best ones they made though. It's so funny that the later stuff they recorded for Motown turned out to be more challenging, uncut funkier and dance-oriented, than the more soulful, pop sound for the earlier output.

This is hard. From there later peiod, it's mos def Moving Violation, Side A is a winner and side B isn't too bad.

From their earlier work, it's hard to choose, any day of the week it could be Diana Ross, ABC, Thirs Album or Windows. Maybe Tomorrow is my least fav of the younger LPs.

Their Christmas album might be my favorite actually. I play it all the time.

But apart from that, I'd say "Third Album" is the one I listen too the most. Love that album.

It's been said that Maybe Tomorrow was the album that was sampled and covered by many artists.

I've heard that alot myself and I was shocked when I first heard it. I always thought that ABC or Dancing Machine were the albums that have been sampled and covered by many. Oh well.

Probably 'Get It Together'. I like the more mature sound, first emergence of Michaels more mature voice.

Being a northerner in th UK, the cover always made me smile with it's 'Git' abbreviation.

That'll go over the heads of most people here, but it's kind of funny.

The Jackson 5 never made a good album. They made great singles and spreaded them out on different crappy albums. Berry Gordy himself said that like most Motown acts at the time the jackson 5 were singles driven.

Moving Violation, the sign of things to come. Great album...& a hilarious album cover to match. lol "ABC" & "Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5" were definitely staples of my early childhood. My mom would play them, & I just adapted to 'em. They're basically how I got into music in the first place (Besides The Bad Album...)

Jermaine produced and sang background on Syreeta's remake of this J5 tune.

Well in the J5 cartoon, Rankin-Bass spotlighted songs from 6 albums (including Michael's "Got To Be There" album), including songs that were not released as singles. Case in point:
