Redd - It's Redd Does anyone have this album and is it good? I've been trying to track it down but no luck so far.
All I know is that the album was produced by Charlie Singleton from Cameo, and that the artist, Redd, is the older brother of Tameka "Tiny" Cottle (from the band Xscape and wife of rapper TI).

This is the only decent track on the LP
I didn't like the vocals and the production is very cheap throughout the whole album

I had a feeling that if anyone had this album, it would be you bro.
I actually just heard that track on youtube before you posted it, and another one that didn't sound as good.
Any chance you can orgnote me with a link to the whole album? I wanna check it all out for myself. Thanks man. |

I'm always down 2 lend a helping hand 2 a fellow funk follower.
I might just re-listen to this myself. It has been about a year since I first heard it, although I'm pretty sure it sucks. You convinced me to give Cinema a second chance and I love the album, so I'll give it another try.
Let me know what U think.

Thanks man. I love how you, me, and sugartuff are all more or less the same age and all into the same music. It's awesome to know that I'm not the only person my age that walks around singing "She's Just That Kinda Lady" LOL.
And I don't think I've met ANYONE in real life our age that even knows who Jesse Johnson, Charlie Singleton or The System are. Thankfully my older cousins are huge funk heads who own all this stuff on vinyl from when it came out so I can always talk to them. You just can't beat forums like this for finding cool people with similar interests.
The download is going really slow for some reason (53 minutes left, wtf) but I'll post my thoughts when I've had a chance to listen. I've never disliked anything Charlie Singleton's been involved with, but you never know. |

My download is going very slow too, 11 mins remaining. (I thought it was frozen at first, hmm, maybe I can find another link)
But yeah, It really sucks knowing that I will never find anyone in person to share my passion for music with. That alone is a reason for me to spend a lot of time and effort trying to find the most obscure stuff available. It's fun to know that you are the only one at this moment in time listening to a certain song. Other people may not have any interest and that will keep them from raining on my parade. There is no BlaqueKnight to question my Funk credentials in my real life and I don't mind.
We are a rare breed indeed.
If you ever travel to Minnesota make sure 2 hit me up!
*My download magically sped up while I was writing this and it is now finished. You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam! | |

Cool song (the one posted). If I ever saw the LP, I would definately pick it up. I'd probably rather have the album version of "sexy girls" though.
Orger Paisleypark4life would dig this song aswell LOL.
