OMG, I wait 12 years for Janet and we get the fucking Royal Albert Hall in London? Firstly, that venue is SHIT for acoustics unless you've got an acoustic guitar or a full orchestra. Anything electronic and you can't hear anything other than a muffled drone. When I saw Darren Hayes there it was like 2 hours of microphone feedback and all I cam eout with was a headache - strangely his support act one man band was perfectly clear. Secondly, that place hardly has any sort of major capacity. I really hate that venue so much. I tend to avoid it like the plague.
as soon as I read the announcement, I thought of you so are you going to go and make an exception for janet? |

Wow! Are you ever satisfied? I think it was clear from the getgo that she ain't going to the O2! And as far as smaller venues go, it could be worse than Royal Albert Hall! I'm looking forward to it! |

I never expected the O2. Not for an Up Close & Personal tour. Hammersmith Apollo, IndigO2, HMV Forum. All good smaller venues with a decent medium capacity.
Anyone in London going to the Royal Albert Hall, be prepared to only be looking at the top of Janet's head not being able to hear a single word being sung into the microphone. Blaring Rock music, it's OK, concert orchestras - perfect. It's the absolte worst venue for anything else.
I will not be buying tickets. |

Janet is doing this tour to keep herself busy. If you think this tour will generate any more sales to her Numbers Ones album - you're a fool. She's promoting herself to get back on the road and basically re-patch her image as a touring act. You say “Don’t worry, Janet will re-certify soon” – It’s been more than 10 years and counting! Be logical!! If she didn’t do it then, she won’t do it now! Also this has nothing to do with Janet not selling these days and it’s not a cop out. Janet was never pushy about her sales and has expressed many times she doesn’t care for sales. Now I’m just waiting for you to give me an example of her caring. Someone that cares would be people like Mariah Carey or Madonna. Those two re-certify their material all the time and inflate their numbers. Janet has never done this.
Deal with it.
[Edited 2/3/11 1:59am]
Janet is doing this tour to promote herself. Btw,there's nothing wrong with that. However, you are acting as if it is. Deal with the fact that this tour is all about Janet promoting herself, trying to get back into good graces with the public and reminding people of her relevance. Stop being naive. Maybe Janet's recertifications have a little something to do with the fact that she is not signed to a record label at the moment. Do you actually think that Janet doesn't care about "sales" when she is telling everyone about her "35 number ones" AND calling her tour that? You really do have to be kidding.
[Edited 2/3/11 2:32am]
what you're saying makes no sense, she hasnt re-certified her music since they first came out, fans have been begging her to have them recertified for years and she still hasnt because SHE REALLY DONT CARE. what do her being signed to a label right now ahve to do with it? she has never done it when she was signed. how does calling her tour number 1's relate to her sales? she dont have any new music out to promote, the people going to her concerts already own the songs she is performing. the artist pays to have their music re-certified, janet could have been doing this if it was important to her. of course she cares as far as wanting people to buy her music but she's not pressed about her sales or inflating her numbers for some kinda bragging rights. |

Let's just say I'd only briefly consider going there again if Michael rose from the dead and decided to sing every song I always dreamed he'd sing live. If I had the time and money I'd consider travelling back to Paris to catch her there and avoid the truly hideous London booking.

Sorry to bang on, but it just gets worse as after checking, the Hammersmith Apollo is free for the entire week that she's in the UK. It's the perfect venue for a tuor like that.
And what the hell is the 'Sporting Club' in Monte Carlo? It's a hotel/casino. Who is she, LATOYA?
Is the entire European leg going to be 3 countries? |

Geez! She's coming to your fucking city. You can go there by tube... others have to fly to their concert! And it's not like she's chosen a totally left field venue! The Killers played there recently... Depeche Mode played there.... Rod Stewart played there and a shit load of other big name artists of all genres! Just because Darren Hayes sucked, doesn't mean Janet will too! |

For years they did the World Music Awards there! Granted, it's not big, but if I'm not mistaken, even Prince played there 2 years ago. |

Wasn't that for a Jazz festival?
I'm a Londoner, I'm allowed to bitch as we're used to getting everything. It's only Janet that hates us
I just seriously don't get why they couldn't book Hammersmith. At least there you can see and hear what's going on. |

Dude, GET OVER IT! Janet hasn't played in Europe for years. She's finally coming there. If I lived in an area where she hadn't played for YEARS, and she was finally going to play there, I'd be happy and grateful, and I'd be getting my ticket. Sheesh... "Get up off that grey line" |
