Gold Legion.com

If anyone is up on the many recently surfacing reissue labels for classic R&B, you already know how truly AWESOME Funkytown Grooves, Vinyl Masterpiece/PTG, Reel Music, Wounded Bird and Big Break Records are. The titles released thus far are amazing and many more titles are promised and guaranteed to satisfy the Old School R&B-loving consumers.

Add a company by the name of Gold Legion Records (or .com) to the list and hopefully y'all will beware of purchasing anything from them. Some of the titles for reissue on their website include Vicki Sue Robinson's entire RCA catalog as well as titles from France Joli and Linda Clifford. When I first discovered them, I emailed them immediately to find out if what they were offering were legit CD's and not bootlegs. I received an email from a Greg who informed me that their releases WERE in fact, the real deal and that my business was welcome. Excited, I ordered on 11/17/10, Linda Clifford's Capitol album (on CD) from 1982, "I'll Keep on Loving You."

Tomorrow, it will be two months that I've been waiting to receive this CD. I paid for it on the date I placed the order and my checking account reflects this debit. After three ignored emails, I gave up. More strangely, I did an internet search on Gold Legion to find a very disturbing account (after the fact) by a similarly dissatisfied customer. Had I discovered this account prior to having placed my order, I would have hesitated before ordering anything from them. Although this other customer finally received his merchandise 3 months later, what's perplexing to me is how when I order through the other aforementioned CD reissue companies, I usually receive my music well within a week to a week and a half and no longer.

I would certainly NOT order from them again and caution every-1 here to be very careful in dealing with them. There is sumpthin' extremely shady goin' on and unlike the aforementioned reissue labels with GREAT reputations, NOTHING from Gold Legion usually appears on Amazon for purchase either. Just passin' on the 4-1-1 so no one else has 2 deal with this in the future. Their website seems a bit "dated" in its presentation as well. That should have clued me in right there. Can you say "Better Business Bureau?" :-O

I've ordered from them. They take their time because the CDs are advertised months before they physically have them. Maybe they should state somewhere we're pre-ordering. The release dates keep being delayed but so far they fulfill.

Fingers crossed. smile

Checked back and now it's clear what's in stock and what's pre-ordered. Also find there are two in-stock I haven't received. Will have to contact them confused

Ahhhh. I agree. They SHOULD state somewhere that there are long delays. Thanks! I feel a little better now. I just went over to their website and noticed the release dates too. There IS hope then. Now I feel bad for doggin' 'em, but hey...respond to your emails or sumpthin', right? Thanks, Pandurito! Appreciate your response! smile

On another forum, someone mentioned that they don't actually press the CDs until after someone orders it hmmm Do you know if that's true?

No, I don't think so.

I think they are a small company and they need extra time to prepare their catalog. I feel like this is a second part time job for them lol and eventually they get their work done.

First CDs came with a naked booklet and the have made new more extensive ones. Those who had the old booklets can buy the new ones for just a dollar. I appreciate that kind of love for things well done. smile
