Family Plann - Shake It Up (1978)

Before there was The ExileMusikMob, there was The Family Plann.

Formed in Toledo, Ohio in 1966 by Kenyon; born 1954(Drums/Vocals), Kim; (1951-2008) (Guitar/Vocals) & Kevin Ross; born 1960(Vocals/Keyboards/Horns), & relocating to Atlanta, GA. in 1972, along with their cousin Keith Clark (Bass Guitar/Vocals) & friend Herb Moon (Vocals/Percussion), they gained a great regional following. Beginning at an early age, they transformed in the 70s into a full-fledged funk band.

This is their funk/disco cult classic, "Shake It Up", released in 1978 on AVI & Drive Records, a division of T.K. Productions (Home of K.C. & The Sunshine Band and Peter Brown, among others). Interestingly enough, I googled them & found out people are listening to them on last.fm & folks are still selling their 70s vinyl singles on ebay & other sites as well...

Check it out...& shake something.

P.S. Kenyon is my father, Kim & Kevin Ross are my uncles...R.I.P. Kim Ross.
