New Kate Bush album coming out THIS YEAR!

http://www.digitalspy.co....-year.html

Kate Bush will release a new album this year, reports suggest.

The singer, whose last record was released in 2005, is said to be putting out a new album this year with longtime label EMI.

Blog website WOTYOUGOT said: "We've just been informed that the Kate Bush will be releasing a new album in 2011, via EMI Records."

Bush has released eight studio albums, all of which have charted inside the top ten. Her last effort Ariel peaked at number three and went Platinum in the UK.

The LP was recently made available on iTunes, after it was initially given a physical-only release.

I can't wait for this!!! excited excited excited excited excited excited excited

Believe it when I see it.

I did love Aerial. Although I'd like something a bit simpler this time. Just 12 tracks, without the birds churping and Rolf Harris interludes.

This is exciting news...Aerial was average...

Coming from the UK I'm a long time admirer of her, since I was a kid...if you want to hear real, meaningful outstanding, classic, memorable songs ( is that too many superlatives?)...she is the place to go...when she's on form.

Some orgers on here only 'got into her' because of the collaboration with the purple yoda.

Not the case with me (I heard Hounds of Love when I was a kid and been a fan ever since) but I don't really think that matters if people got into her because of "My Computer", or "Why Should I Love You".

I wouldn't have heard of Sandra St Victor if it weren't for her collaborations with Prince and I dig her stuff.

I was introduced to Kate via their collaborations but she has far surpassed Prince in my musical appreciation ranking.

I respect that, but even she would laugh at that. She doesn't come near Prince musically, he's too.....you know the rest. Musically, Prince is untouchable...whether you dig him or not, it's what it is.

Uhh, actually, she did laugh at him. Did you read the interview where she and her engineer were awestruck with the atrocious changes he made to Why Should I Love U?

Sorry, what Bush may lack in prolific, diversity on instruments and stage presence, she more then makes up in music arrangement, stage drama and theatrics and songwriting. Prince can not touch her still continuing ability to write a musical masterpiece.

I love Kate very much, but the only thing I've always found strange is that, in the entirety of her 37 year career (she was signed to EMI at the age of 16 in 1974), she has done exactly one tour. In 1979.

A revolutionary theatrical affair that saw 17 costume changes and theatricalities that would put Lady Gaga to shame. By all accounts, an incredible string of performances. And yet, she's never toured again since. It's completely bizarre to me.

She was going to tour with The Red Shoes, but her mother passed away and the plans were scrapped.

She was asked in an interview around the time Aerial was released if she would ever consider doing a one-off live show and she responded with "I just don't see how I would fit it in amongst the school-run." lol

So great to see all of these genuine Kate fans who can appreciate her music without comparing her to any artist...in fact it is essential that her music isn't compared...it is too powerful...too unique.

Many of her songs are what I call 'one and onlys'...just thinking about some of her songs...still sends a shiver through me...and I am manly...lol

Militant!...I summon you!...I respect your presence a lot here on the Org...yes Kate is one of those artists who really don't care for the glitz and glamour; doesn't even want to tour, 'too draining', she's often said...so she is very lucky she established her presence at a time where music was more important than...(fill in the blanks for me orgers)...

Hmmm...yes Militant would be a good guy to hang out with.

Best wishes for the year for everyone on the Org...US citizens...keep your heads and hang in there...

From wikipedia

Bush's only tour took place 2 April – 13 May 1979, after which she gave only the occasional live performance. Several reasons have been suggested as to why she abandoned touring, among them her reputed need to be in total control of the final product, which is incompatible with live stage performance, a rumour of a crippling fear of flying,[67]and the suggestion that the death of 21-year-old Bill Duffield severely affected her. Duffield, her lighting director, was killed in an accident during her 2 April 1979 concert at Poole Arts Centre. Bush held a benefit concert on 12 May 1979, with Peter Gabriel and Steve Harley at London's Hammersmith Odeon for his family. Duffield would be honoured in two later songs: "Blow Away" on Never for Ever and "Moments of Pleasure" on The Red Shoes. Bush explained in a BBC Radio 2 interview with Mark Radcliffe that she actually enjoyed the tour but was consumed with producing her subsequent records.

If there was anyone in the entire world who I could choose to see live, it would be Kate Bush.

I have liked her since i was a kid, but i only have Hounds Of Love and Red Shoes.

I knew she had not toured for a very long time, but i did not know to what extent till i read this thread.

It would be great to see her do some one off shows, in special venues, The Albert Hall springs to mind.

Come on Kate!! Call that babysitter.

There is a very nice live cd of Kate Bush playing the Hammersmith Odeon London from 1979.

It was released as a "double pack Sound & Vision VHS and cd release in 1994.

Lossless download is out there (inc full art) if you know where to look.

It's really rather good.

The album of Kate Bush that I love every song from is Hounds of Love. It will be interesting to see what the new album sounds like. But this one is the bomb:

Thanks, Andy. I appreciate the compliments. If our paths ever cross, we can for sure hang out. Always down to meet fellow funky people, any fan of Prince and Kate can certainly be a friend of mine.

Kate is definitely a one of a kind. There a few people in the world that drastically altered the way I see music. And they all tend to be unique characters. Prince and Kate are certainly both in that group. In fact, both of them inspire and frustrate me in equal measure. They inspire me to become a better songwriter, and they frustrate me because sometimes I don't think I'll ever be able make anything as perfectly genius as some of their best work. Truly gifted, on a different level to most. Not simply artists and songwriters....but there is something otherworldly about them.....

Ya see?...Militant always gets it!

For those who like Aerial, I do understand why...because Kate Bush's music really and truly has long been a part of my physiology!...let's just say I listen to her other albums more...so happy people on here can really feel her music.

Ahhh...Militant...you must keep creating your music, try not to compare to those 'geniuses'...deep down you know music is not a competition, but an expression...of you.

Prince he just...he makes instruments sound like they're human...like every time...he just makes them talk...frustrates me also as a musician...Prince kinda makes me feel like 'Ok I've got play what he can play before I can even begin to create my own music!'...but we have to get out of that mindset and just chill...love ourselves and believe in ourselves, more.

peace to all...especially Militant

Absolutely, and again, thanks for the kind words. Definitely an expression and not a competition, but sometimes you just wonder.... HOW did they get some of these ideas? Of course, it's ineffable. They probably could not even tell us or explain it themselves... it just is.

much love!

My comments were not an attempt to compare the two. I was simply pointing out my personal preference, I enjoy her music more than his. shrug

Are we seriously gonna force each other to be that PC to deny people sharing their opinions on websites now? lol
