From Atlanta, GA, & formerly known as KARAUS + exiles of the nation, The ExileMusikMob has reformed & are releasing two new albums on bandcamp.com this month. The brand-new 12 track "CORRUPTED CONNECTION" & the 3rd Anniversary DELUXE Edition of 2008's concept LP "ESCAPE FROM TRAP CITY!!!" (10 songs from the original E.F.T.C. from 2008 & 6 new/unreleased tracks). The entire albums are streaming now. Highlights for funk fans would be "Lights On" & "Undressed" from CORRUPTED CONNECTION, & "The Meltdown" &

"The 21st Century Ice Age" from ESCAPE FROM TRAP CITY!!!, among others. (Those songs can be found further down on this post. ) The studio albums are a mix of funk, rock, hip-hop & soul, with dance, new wave & pop influences.

Yeah, it is my band... This is vM. Former Apollo Theater Winner, spawn of The Family Plann Band from the 70s (see http://prince.org/msg/8/332834 ). I've been around here for a long time, roaming since 1999...The questions that are always asked every year is "Where Did The Real Music Go in The Mainstream?", "Why Aren't There Any More Black Bands?",etc. Well, I'm attempting 2, at the very least, help bring it back.

In the studio, I write, produce & perform everything, but live, its a different story...We're due to open for Atlanta "Black Rock" Band Three5Human (led by Guitarist/Producer Tomi Martin) @ Centerstage in Atlanta,GA soon...& several other dates as well to be announced. I do sing, play keys & rap(some of it is explicit...OK, alot of it is), but there's no autotune involved & you can always hear the instruments (most important).

I am signed with a label as a solo artist & a more so-called "commercial" album I wrote & co-produced called "Distorted Paradise" is coming sometime this summer (its still funky, though). But my main thing has always been to try to bring funk/rock music back to the mainstream by any means necessary. Been @ it for 17 years...& I'm 27. So check it out, it is quality stuff (trust me, I wouldn't dare put it on here if it wasn't), & visit us @

Thanks, phunkdaddy...Yeah, Something's Going On was definitely my favorite one from the sessions, & what's even crazier is that's only the 2nd time we rehearsed it... I appreciate the support, & of course, I'll keep everyone updated. I value the Org's opinions more than anyone on the net, 4 real...been coming back for more than a decade now. I know ya'll know what's up. There's alot more...That's why I make music, so people can enjoy it.

It's really cool to just hear what people say about it, whether or not anything becomes a HIT. But you never know what can happen...try & spread the word, hopefully more people here on the org will listen & reply. Here's some more...

Funk & funk/rock music will always be my backbone & passion, but ExileMusik is influenced by other types of music as well...Check these out.
