Why can't R Kelly produce anything close to the quality of 12 Play CD? I love this man's voice, seen him in concert ....it just bug's the hell out of me he can't write a CD close to the 12 play vibe.... just the quaility in tracks seem to be missing ... yes he comes back now and then with good stuff but not a CD's worth....

I say the self-titled cd is 1000% better than the 12 Play album.
To me, he's made so many cds that are better than 12 Play: R.Kelly R. Chocolate Factory Happy People (not U Saved Me) Love Letter
I understand why people still love 12 Play, but when you start asking, they ususally only like about half of the album. The ballads and mid-tempos are excellent on 12 Play, but the uptempo trax are utter horrible! **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Yep, 12 Play might be his most popular release, but his 1995 self-titled album was flat-out incredible. I don't think he's done anything close to the level of that album. Everything gelled with that album and R. was a good one too. But the self-titled album was his best album! Check me out and add me on:

12 Play isn't even his best written/produced album. It's a tie between R. and his self-titled album. Even Tp-2 is better than 12 Play as an overall album. | |

Chocolate Factory is the only R. Kelly album I can tolerate. I've never been a fan, but I understood the appeal of his debut even though it annoyed the shit of me. This was the album that fans of Guy wanted Aaron Hall to make.
