The Jets ~ Cross My Broken Heart

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Love this jam. The Jets always take me back to the good ol' days. Elizabeth looks like Janet in "When I Think of You" in this.

She had breast cancer awhile back, but she's ok now.

Yeah, I'd read about that not long ago. I'm glad she's okay. That is one BIG family! One of the brothers, Gene, broke apart from the group and became part of the duo Boys Club. They had a top 10 hit with "I Remember Holding You".

There's 19 siblings altogether I think (all from the same mother & father). The Osmonds, Jacksons, Sylvers, and DeBarges have nothing on the Wolfgramms. lol

Micky, I have a trick question for you, which was based upon a thread from 2010 about the same topic.

Does The Jets count as a funk band OR a dance-pop band with funk elements?

They were R&B pop to me. "Dance music" is a pretty vague term. Bluegrass can be considered dance music for square dancing, classical is dance for ballet, etc.

I remember this song lol It's a shame that Elizabeth didn't attempt a solo career. She has a fantastic voice. With the right production and guidance, she might have done well as a solo artist in the 90s.

nod that's a good one,too.

Interestingly, this album was supposed to include a Prince song.He gave them the track "Neon Telephone" but they turned it down. One of the guys explained that they didn't think it was strong enough and I have to agree.
