You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Francis And The Lights - It'll Be Better *** our of 4. Nice jams, written very well..some of the songs steer too far away from the funk pop where Francis soars in my opinion; however because the gems on this album were very well produced and written I have to give it a three star rating. Knees To The Floor, Get In The Car, Tap The Phone, For Days and Darling It's Alright are exceptional.

Lillo Thomas - Let Me Be Yours

Lawd this album got that good mid 80's funk in it! Who Do You Think You Are, You're A Good Girl, I Like It, Hot Love and Let Me Be Yours are jaaamz! Just bought it last week ...great lp.

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Hmm... the album I probably heard most this year so far was Van Halen's (or as some would say, Van Hagar's)

A bunch of stuff that 95% of the people in this forum don't know about, don't care about and will never, EVER listen to. I mean, shit, it was released after1995 and it's not soul or R&B. That alone rules it our for at 95% of the people here, maybe more.

lol I've tried. SOOOOO many times. There's a few adventerous listeners here, but not many. Not nearly as many as I would have expected. I mean, just look at what's been posted in this thread and the subjects of the other threads in the Non-Prince forum. I think my only hope at this point is to ridicule people. lol

I think 4X4=12 is one of Deadmau5's weakest releases, btw. And I'm a big fan.

^^^ I've listened to many selections made after the 1990s on here that I otherwise wouldn't have learned about. Just because someone doesn't get that many responses doesn't mean that people aren't listening and are influenced by a new music post. On threads like these...it is just what people are listening to at the moment...and many times those are songs which are loved and familiar rather than something new and untried. But I hope everyone posts old and new with links so those who choose can go discover other music that they just might like! biggrin Now, although I've made that statment, don't get on my case but I am really liking this innocent, wistful, but hopeful oldie at the moment: lol

Even if a lot of people don't participate in the discussion, there are still a lot of lurkers on the forums. You should really post it anyways. As for 4x4=12 a lot of people were saying that it's a lot poppier than his previous albums. I'm still getting into him and going through his discography.
