Aretha did reveal something of having a hard pain while touring in Toronto:
"I had a colonoscopy and it showed nothing was wrong", Franklin said, "I associated the pain in my side with the colonoscopy that I had within a day or two before. I got up at 2 o’clock in the morning and called the doctor who did the colonoscopy and told him what was happening. He said, ‘Miss Franklin, whatever it is, it is not from the colonoscopy. You need to come home and have a CAT-scan.’ Thank God he said that because that unfolded everything, what the problem was and everything.”
I think if it was simply gastric bypass, she wouldn't have said this.
We are talking about Aretha - not exactly a woman of complete forthrightedness (whatever that is) LOL
I'm thinking it was a weight loss surgery also, because she's lost a few pounds and the weight that she was at most surgeons want you to lose weight first to see if your are serious then they will perform the surgery. I hope it is some type of gastric bypass because it's a helluva lot better then cancer.
As cagey as Aretha is, I doubt she'll reveal the actual cause. Her publicist hasn't stopped any health "rumors" and of course the pancreatic cancer stories are now of PUBLIC RECORD. No denials from the Franklin camp about that at all.
That said, I'm glad Aretha's at least trying to continue her legendary career.

Did her camp confirm that she had cancer?
They didn't confirm OR deny anything. I guess Aretha's too old school so she won't talk about it. She'll just move on, that's what she do lol
Aretha doesn't sound like anyone going through an illness. I hope all of this is not true. I think & hope she will be just fine...
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.
