Cute version.

Not bad but her voice on this track, I don't know, it lacks of rythm or something. The music part at the end is great thought, it features some nice arrangements. The Love EP features 4 other tracks and I prefer her cover of Bob Marley "Is This Love", very soulful version and pretty well done, have a listen on this blog:

Yeah, I agree about her singing style. It's kind of the reason I can't quite get into her work, overall; just seems a little too sedate or something.
Cheers for posting the Marley cover. The Aretha-style reworking really works well for me, too. The influence of 60s soul is so strong in his writing that I always enjoy covers that take his songs back in that direction (albeit via Leeds, in this case!). Exactly people... The music is one thing...her lacksadaisical voice is another...you can't really put the two together, unless she's playing all those funky riffs as well...she's just lazily singing an easy well known melody over the top...I never really got CBRae...hippy chick...but each to their own.
Just coz it's Prince, let's not get excited.
Very average female singer, who to me is lacking in the 'soul' department...nothing special whatsoever...wish her well though.

Corinne should ease up on the valium. She's singing over the track like she was backed by a jazz trio, c'mon now.

I love love love CBR, and the track is hot! I think it would have benefitted from no high-energy synths though, should have gone for a patch that isn't so "dancy" but more "jazzy" to match her voice. Still cool though

This sounds like it was made down in somebody's basement with a casio keyboard and somebody's high uncle on drums, BUT I LIKE IT!!! I'm glad she didn't do some self-important, over-produced, version of this song. I think it's charming. [Edited 1/11/11 20:45pm]
