Saying Britney's career is on the down is just nonsense.
You've been slapped with facts that show this OBVIOUSLY isn't the case and yet you keep trolling the topic even though you've been proven to be wrong.
The song just beat a record that was set TWO YEARS AGO and yet you say these records "get beaten every day".... uhhhhh, no, they don't.
The song is #1 is 15 countries but you say she's "irrelevant". Again, no.
And since you want to mention Gaga (who I also love), how about this?
The most illegally downloaded song of 2010, by a long shot..... was........ Britney Spears' DEMO of "Telephone".
Yes, a rough demo from Britney was downloaded MORE than anything Gaga put out there. Ain't that a bitch?

Guys help me, I just heard this one today and the chorus sounds exactly like some old ballad (and it's not the Bellamy Brothers song) but I can't remember the name. Anyone else knows? |

Bellamy Brothers: Britney Spears Ripped Off Our Song!
1/11/2011 11:35 AM PST by TMZ Staff
It sure sounded familiar when Britney Spears released it, but The Bellamy Brothers now claim Britney blatantly ripped off their song, "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me."

Britney's song -- which is now #1 on iTunes -- is titled "Hold It Against Me."
David Bellamy says, "Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She's a talented gal. But professionally, well, in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where's the originality?"
The Bellamy Bros are not taking legal action, but they're pissed off. |

Right...because they own that phrase...Hold It Against Me. Um ok.

Go sit on some haystack somewhere, milk a cow, and continute to be irrelevant. These nobodies just piss me off...Ughhhhh. |

OK, I heard the song, it's OK I guess. It's definitely what radio plays now so it's a shoo-in but whatever.
That said, it's not too different to what she's been doing since In the Zone. |

I wouldn't call the Bellamy Brothers a "nobody", but I can relate. They are just trying to bring attention to their song so they can get a few more mp3 downloads along with Brit. It's definitely NOT a rip. |

Shut the fuck up. Don't compare Britney to Lohan. One got their act together, the other...the jury's still out.
No bitch, you shut the fuck and sit down. I wasn't referring to either getting their act together because both are just as sloppy. |

It also seems like they're themselves promoting Britney because they also said in the same breath: "she's a talented gal". |

I'm sure they have grand kids that they have had to purchase Britney cds/mp3s for. |

Obviously the song is going to have some similarities to other dance songs that are hot at the moment. I gotta give props to Britney though to bringing a little something new to the table with this. The dubstep sound that she flirted with on Freakshow from her Blackout album is on full throttle on this one and that is what sets it apart. Anybody who is hardcore into dance music should be able to hear the difference in this and a Ke$ha or Katy Perry song. Never thought in a million years Britney would be the one to bring something new to the dance/pop music table but she has with this.
Rusko is a good reference point for those who want to hear what dubstep is all about.
I have zero doubt that this song will go to number one. Those airplay numbers are insane for one day and wait until the sales stats come rolling in. I'll just congratulate Britney already on her 4th number one song.
You mean her team. She ain't doing shit and this is nothing new. Same ole electro/pop BS that has been done in Europe for years. [Edited 1/11/11 13:40pm] |

Listen you all, fine if you want to keep arguing if Britney is still successful or not (sadly, she still is) but just leave GaGa alone, please: she's like 1000000xtimes better than Britney. Comparing GaGa with Britney is like comparing Radiohead with Poison...tasteless, pointless and ridiculous...

Gaga is only mildly more talented than Britney and I already said I love them both, so go take a chill pill and calm your ass down.
Gaga is awesome, but she needs to stay relevant for a decade before she can even think about taking the throne. Don't forget the graphic:

This year will be interesting. We'll see how Britney's album and "Born This Way" stack up against each other.

Britney's "Blackout" is the definitive pop record of the last ten years.
Nothing comes close, especially not "The Fame" with it's 5 great songs and the rest all garbage. They should have kept the best songs from "The Fame", not released it, then waited until Gaga wrote the songs from "Fame Monster" and released it as her debut. But who knows if she'd have been able to write the great songs on "Fame Monster" without having done "The Fame" first...... she might have continued to write garbage like 75% of her debut.... |
