Obviously the song is going to have some similarities to other dance songs that are hot at the moment. I gotta give props to Britney though to bringing a little something new to the table with this. The dubstep sound that she flirted with on Freakshow from her Blackout album is on full throttle on this one and that is what sets it apart. Anybody who is hardcore into dance music should be able to hear the difference in this and a Ke$ha or Katy Perry song. Never thought in a million years Britney would be the one to bring something new to the dance/pop music table but she has with this.

Rusko is a good reference point for those who want to hear what dubstep is all about.

I have zero doubt that this song will go to number one. Those airplay numbers are insane for one day and wait until the sales stats come rolling in. I'll just congratulate Britney already on her 4th number one song. biggrin

She brought in a new sound with Toxic, too. Hell, there was nothing around like Baby One More Time, either, when it first came out. It's just what Godney does bow

The song is growing on me, I still don't like the lyrics much though.

Toxic brought in a new sound? It's a great song, but I have to say I'm a little baffled as to what this "new sound" was, considering Kylie and everyone else had been using it for years.

Same goes for BOMT. Rhythmic teen pop was nothing new and already quite popular when it debuted - it's not as if she reinvented the wheel.

Britney is masquerading as a singer ..... please i just don't get the fuss her career ended long ago ...she all hype living of her past name and marketing budgets!

I think GaGa ended alot of the "Britney" Types career CA looks to be moving on Britney should do the same she can't milk the cow for much longer her older music is not selling and the cost of pushing out another rubbish CD / Download must be costing the record company loads in marketing fees...

She can't sell concert tickets like GaGa worldwide or Madge ....

Time's up ... i guess Glee is the only thing giving her new life.....she been around too long anyway she should count herself lucky to still be able to release any stuff at all in 2011

biggrin

Bitch please she's breaking records left and right. Ever since she came out people have been talking about her '15 minutes' and she's still around after 13 years. Her last tour sold out over the globe and banked more than $130 million.

Don't confuse Britney with Floptina.

[Edited 1/11/11 8:10am]

Britney was lucky .... she came out when real talent was taking a back seat and the music industry still had money .... all that's changed now .... the market is smaller and she not the only "white" female pop choice doing pop/r'n'b music.....

She had a good run but times up! Sorry all the kids have grown up and moved on ..... the marketing will only take her so far ..... she will have to marry Justin B to get headlines....lol

Someone still selling out arenas, collecting #1's, and moving albums is far from over. I don't know what your logic is. You know who's over? Jessica Simpson. Mandy Moore. People who flop. How the hell can someone exploding on radio and the charts be over? LMAO.

I'm glad you put out Jessica and Mandy ..... they are just Britney clones the record companies used to drain more money out of the talent-less era that was "Britney" .... you market anything strongly it will sell even CA sold and her CD was crap

I'll think you'll find the figures for Britney CD and So called concerts "as she does not sing live anyway" will decrease in number .....

She's had her day .... let's all move on I guess Taylor Swift is holding all the sales records in the US for "white" female pop singers but she can't dance so i guess this is why Britney is still around?

She's still around because she has a loyal fanbase. It's as simple as that. Has-beens don't ignite the charts like she does.

Madonna is even backing GaGa ....that should tell you her "Best Before Date" is well and truly past ....

I got the feeling Madge didn't think someone like GaGa would come around before she got old and shit ....so she gave her torch to Britney and CA way to quick....at least with GaGa around she can look back at her career and point to her as the future

Britney fan base is getting smaller by the year ..... she better hope Janet Jackson never gets hold of her producers or writers and spend a month in the gym even at her age she would wipe the floor with Britney....easy:lol:

This is completely untrue. If anything, it's getting bigger.

You know how much money Britney made last year? $64 million, with no album and no tour.

You oughta see the stats of how many records she sold after the "Glee" episode. I've seen em. Mighty impressive. And most of the sales are coming from NEW fans, because the longterm fanbase already has all her stuff.

The new single is her fastest selling song of all time. It's already #1 on more than 5 different countries iTunes charts... it'll double, if not triple that by the end of the day. It's airplay spins in ONE day tripled and doubled that of her last two lead singles, "3", and "Womanizer", respectively, and set a new record. That doesn't happen when your fanbase is diminishing.

It's OK to be a hater, but you can't deny the facts.

I don't understand what you mean by 'backing.' Madonna has praised Gaga and Britney, Britney has praised Madonna and Gaga, and Gaga has praised Madonna and Britney. So what?

And Gaga has only been around since 08. You think her hype will stay the same forever? Nobodies does. The question is whether her fanbase will still be with her down the road a decade later which remains to be seen. People are always talkin shit about how someone's over when the public still buys their material. That doesn't make sense.

It's not awful, but not great either.

I did love "Blackout" and "Circus", but I'm not feelin' this as much.

Hopefully the other songs on the album will be better.

Itunes records are breaking everyday because it's a new format .....don't get hooked on the hype!

1. iTunes isn't a "new format". It's been the exact same paradigm for damn near a decade now.

2. You said "look at the facts" but you didn't provide any facts. I did.

3. I'm looking at the US market? OK then, explain this:

#1 Italy
#1 United States
#1 Spain
#1 Mexico
#1 New Zealand
#1 Sweden
#1 France
#1 Finland
#1 Greece
#1 Norway
#1 Portugal
#1 Canada
#1 Denmark
#1 Australia
#1 Belgium
#3 Luxembourg
#3 Switzerland
#3 Netherland
#32 Ireland (just released)

Oh, look. It's #1 in 14 countries that aren't the US. How about that?

you can have a discussion, but you're just giving your opinion, no facts. I'm not grazy about Britney Spears (although i think her new song is pretty cool), but the woman made 64 million dollar last year...pretty stupid to say her career is over....i mean, thats just saying the sky is green...

you can say it a thousand times, but the sky still isn't green.

sometimes you just have to accept someting and move on....

And you ask yourself what happened to the music .....

I'm sorry but no amount of product marketing hype would get me to change my mind about Britney Spears paid for by industry bosses who knew the market they wanted to sell her into and it's strange that she has so many fans on a Prince website?

She has very little talent, if any at all apart from her looks ...each to their own I guess.... George Bush was the President of the US does mean he was any good.

Britney is a very lucky girl ....right place right time .... her own management would say the same!

It's great for young girls growing up to see GaGa and know they can do it on talent not just the way you look!

It's not hard task to get a number one in France ..... Prince did it ....lol

Let's not get over the top, it's Jan the whole of 2011 is left and GaGa has not has a single out ...let's say the big gun's have not fired!

Britney is about as hot as my xmas turkey ...

The facts are she can't sing, she don't write her music or can play a damn note, she can just about dance ....i'd say her career is behind her....watch after the marketing hype how her sales drop of .....she's living on past glory and luck...

Itunes records get broken everyday .... who cares...lol

you can have a discussion, but you're just giving your opinion, no facts.

Correction her record company made 64 million dollars ..... I don't see why they should pay her even a quarter, you have to pay all the people around her, the people who write the songs make the music, create the video's, design the clothes, backing singers, marketing, PR....

She is just a face .... a pretty face but that's all ... let's get real people.lol

OMG YOU HATERS KILL ME. YOU'VE BEEN SAYING THE SAME SHIT FOR YEARS AND SHE STILL HAS HIT AFTER HIT. PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER DUMBASS. YOU'RE NOT MAKING SENSE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE HER, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RESPECT HER, YOU MAY THINK SHE'S UNTALENTED...THAT'S YOUR OPINION. BUT DON'T GO AROUND LYING ABOUT HER SUCCESS WHEN IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE. YOU CAN'T DISTORT FACT.

WHAT ARE YOU DENSE? OR IS YOUR ASS SO FAR UP GAGA'S PUSS THAT YOU CAN'T DISTINGUISH A HIT FROM A FLOP?

- A FLOP DOESN'T SELL 500K THE FIRST WEEK THEN GOES ON TO DO ALMOST 2 MILLION IN ALBUMS SALES WITH LIMITED PROMOTION.

- A FLOP DOESN'T COLLECT MULTIPLE #1'S RADIO AND ON THE HOT 100

- A FLOP DOESN'T GROSS OVER $130 MILLION FROM FROM A SOLD OUT TOUR ALL OVER THE WORLD.

- A FLOP DOESN'T BANK OVER $64 MILLION IN A YEAR WHEN ALL SHE DID WAS SLEEP, EAT, AND SHIT.

- A FLOP DOESN'T GENERATE PUBLIC INTEREST. TV APPEARANCES, INTERVIEWS, WHEREVER SHE IS RATINGS GO UP.

PAST GLORY MY ASS! DON'T BE MAD CUZ YOUR FAVES COULD NEVER.

I hate arguing with dumbasses. Are you trying to make this about talent or numbers? You keep going back and forth. Talent I'm not discussing because it's your opinion. That's fine. But what I AM talking about is you trying to say she's irrelvant, or losing relevancy when the receipts don't back up that claim.

And please like Gaga's daily Halloween show isn't product marketing? Um, NEWSFLASH. It's probably one of the biggest gimmicks ever. A genius gimmick but a gimmick nonetheless. And all industry bossess hype, promote, and try to sell their artists...Again, I don't understand what you're trying to say. But I have to remind myself I'm arguing with a dumbass.

A= Both

B= Yes she is

C= There is no way on earth Britney Spears is getting bigger, her sales CD's nor concert sales compare like for like ...i.e. the career is on the down...at last...the hype is ending:lol:

I'm not feeling it. It sounds like one of Madonna's remixes from 5 or 10 years ago. This dance stuff is really played out...

Madonna's remixes were never this bad.

Shut the fuck up. Don't compare Britney to Lohan. One got their act together, the other...the jury's still out.

sweetie, there are pretty faces every where....if she was just a pretty face, she wouldn't be around for more than 10 years...lots of people tried and didn't succeed

Now let's get real and accept she's succesfull
