Personal Fave Deck Wrecker - DJ Z-Trip Turntabalists can be a bit "samey" IMO, but this cat always manages to impress / amuse me. You never know what he's gonna do. Skillz?...uh huh.....
Here's a clip from 2008 in L.A....
Z manages to chop, screw, mix, cut & mash Iron Butterfly, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, & Rage Against The Machine (amongst others)..in this short set alone. Pretty sick.

The "Nirvana/Nelly Furtado" part was pretty sweet. Might have to try that next weekend at the club.

I saw him in 2007. Lots of crowd pleasing songs that aren't necessarily remixed, but the blends between are tight.
He did a live mix of Gnarls Barkley "Crazy" over Chic "Good Times" - too sick!

Also noticed on YT....he tore UP a room at Coachella this last year.......and has also been overseas entertaining our troops.
Ain't seen ANY of his contemporaries do EITHER of those. Funk Is It's Own Reward

Nice work. That was an even better, cleaner execution of what he mashed in that above clip. That drum loop & that vocal are a happy marriage .
Just outta curiosity...what gear did you use? (not sure if the Avatar pic is your actual stuff) Funk Is It's Own Reward

Thanks.
I used my Stanton STR8.150 turntables, Rane TTM 57SL mixer and Serato Scratch Live.

Sweet.......how ya like those Stanton decks? (they will pry my Techs from my cold dead hands ).
I'm witcha on Serato...won't do anything live without it anymore (does that make me officially lazy? ) I don't like to mix with it at home tho......always found that odd about myself. Funk Is It's Own Reward

I get alot of shit for it but I LOVE thoes Stanton's. They are built like a tank. Most who knock them have never used them. They usually heard some story about an older or cheaper Stanton table and then make a judgement on that.
Don't get me wrong...I love the Technics too. That's what I set out to buy originally but the rumor was going around that they were being discontinued so that jacked up the price. ($999 US) I could've went used but I wanted a brand new set of tables. Did some research and the Stanton STR8.150 was getting awesome reviews so I got these for $540 CDN/ea
Glad I did. Been rockin' them in the club 3 nights a week for a year now...no issues.
