2 DAMN COOL AND FUNKY - 'Black Man' by Stevie Wonder This song is so damn funky I love it, the horns and the beat. I recommend it! It's on Songs In The Key Of Life album. [Edited 1/14/11 15:50pm]

I wonder how long it took to record the children and teachers at the end. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yes, the teacher sounds really fierce doesn't she!

Makes you wonder what would it sound like if Stevie & Gary Byrd did a WHOLE album together. I really think Gary is one of the most underrated writers ever. And great radio personality too.

Yup, great song from Stevie's "golden" days... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I love the song, but I have to confess to having always hated the spoken 'classroom' parts at the end. I even created an edit that fades out just as that bit starts. "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin
