Cinema appreciation/recognition

Put You In My Pocket 12inch REMIX (YESSIR!)

Everybody Get Restless.

I had downloaded their album months ago but I merely skimmed through the tracks and wasn't impressed, so I kept putyouinmypocket and deleted the rest.

I recently checked it out again on a recommendation by an associate who will remain anonymous, and I realized I had nearly let a jewel escape from my clutches.

I quickly the purchased the album+both of their singles (Cinema 6 is on the way).

I don't know much about the group aside from what I have read on Craig Hollimans myspace, so if you have anything to add I would be grateful (Supposedly it was given a 9/10 rating from BET (yeah i know) when it first released. I'm surprised an album with such critical praise would vanish so easily.

WORD

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I should really seek them out as I always dug "put u in my pocket".

"Everybody get's restless" is cool Never heard it before. Only other thing I have seen Craig Holliman on was a couple of tracks for one time famous pop choreographer Barry Lather (yep he released an album in 1990)

Both of Craig's produced cuts are really good fun and well produced, but God knows if he did anything else?

Probably too poppy for your tastes minniapolisfung (particually the vocals), but amazinly, someone has uploaded one of the tracks Criag did with Barry:-

The other track "In a big way" is one of my favs from the album. Fun, upbeat song.

I remember trying to break this on my radio show back in '88. It was produced by John McClain (who was hot as shit at the time)...so I jumped right on it.

Response was limp. It drew comments like "just weird"..or "almost a jam". It always stuck me as an avante garde project that some might dig...but to the masses it was just a lil too "out there".

"Pocket" remains on my playlist to this day tho.

Everybody Get Restless is an essential jam imo, especially when it comes to music of that genre during that time period.

@thesexofit

That track is alright, I'll listen to it a few more times and see how I feel about it. The vocals aren't an issue for me, thanks for the recommendation.

Looks like it. "Love in the 3rd degree" had a great video with lots of dancing though. It was on youtube but got taken off for some reason years ago.
