Great song, I love me some Syreeta! Funkytowngrooves just issued "Set My Love In Motion" on cd (my favourite album of hers) and BBR will release the 1980 "Syreeta" album that this track is on later this year!

I know almost all if not all of her music released...I LOVE Syreeta. Very underappreciated.
I knew you'd be in here Timmy and Harle as well!
I hope vainandy approves this as an assshaker.
Oh, most definately. I've never heard it until today and the reason I didn't click on this thread sooner is because when I saw the artist's name, "Syreeta", for some reason my brain kept registering what I was reading as "Siedah" as in Siedah Garrett who bores the hell out of me. I kept thinking to myself..."Siedah Garrett...funky? Yeah right!" It's so damn cold outside it's fucking with my brain.
Yeah, that's a good one and the one that Harlepolis posted is a good one also. Just when I think I've got every single song in history that I like, somebody shows me something that I was either unaware of or had overlooked and then I've got more music to either try to find, download, or record. Damn y'all!
I'm just messin' with you though because I live to find good stuff I don't already have!

Glad you approve Andy! Well Syreeta also has songs you're probably less fond of since they are on the sappy side of ballads (like the stuff with Billy Preston) but I couldn't ignore this funky tune. I forgot how funky it was and then I played it up loud.
Lol @ reading Siedah...Yeah possible and I hear ya...

Billy Preston....now that name sounds familiar. I know I've heard his name most of my life and probably have heard some of his songs also but just can't put my finger on which songs he made. But I do love some slow jams, mainly from the 1970s and early 1980s. I just can't stand most of the slow stuff from 1985 on up to today when they stopped sounding sexy and seductive and started sounding adult contemporary. I like the type of slow jams that make me feel like a whore that's taken a stranger home in her Cadillac at 3 a.m. and slept with him, not the type of slow stuff that makes me feel like a soccer mom taking her kids to soccer practice in a mini van with a dog in the back.

You probably also heard from him because he was called the "fifth beatle" and played on beatles stuff. Also as a child prodigy he played with Nat King Cole and all so it's a pretty well known name. He has some great tunes like Timmy posted.

"Outa Space"
"Space Race"
"Wide Stride"
"Nothing from Nothing"
"Going Around in Circles"
"Struttin'"
The guy had some funk classics.
What the hell am I thinking. I definately know who Billy Preston is with the huge ass afro and beard. I even have his "Best Of" CD. Also, I think Syreeta is with him on "Go For It" if I'm not mistaken.
This extreme cold weather must be really messin' with my brain. I had to do some unexpected walking in it yesterday a block or two out of my way (due to some idiot construction workers blocking off all the entrances to the parking lot at work) and got so pissed off I couldn't even think straight. My hands were soooo damn cold I had lost the feeling in them. Y'all will just have to excuse me, I just wasn't quite myself when I typed that earlier. I couldn't think straight at the time.

SET MY LOVE IN MOTION is the fifth studio album from the late Grammy-nominated American R&B singer-songwriter Syreeta Wright, released on the Motown label on July, 1981. The album yielded the singles: "You Set My Love in Motion", "Can't Shake Your Love" and "Quick Slick". This is the first time on CD for album and it is expanded with the addition of 3 bonus tracks.
Remastered from the original master tapes by Ellen Fitton. This is an authorized reissue of an Original Motown Album.
