So all these Beatles (The game, The remasters, iTunes etc) releases post-MJ don't come across as strange to anyone else? Sony benefit from these releases, never mind MJ's sales as well, do they not?
We're not talking a small profit here, but millions upon millions. Overall, maybe a small percentage of a worlwide revenue for lots of entertainment products, but still, every little profit helps the shareholders and owners.
Yes but so too does Michael's estate. Sony had a right to those profits as much as Michael did. Also the delay in releasing The Beatles to itunes was over a long standing copyright infringement between Apple Corps (The Beatle's company) and Apple - and once resolved then opened the way for the Beatles to be release on itunes.
Making money off the catalogue isn't evidence of a crime. Michael made money off it when he was alive, used it to gain a bigger slice of music publishing with the merge with Sony, and his estate will benefit from it for years to come.
If you wanted to take it away you'd make Michael default on it.
The estate making more money would have been taken into account by SONY, no doubt. Win for them. Still.
And with this press coverage of the Prelim trial, another win. SONY don't have to promote 'Michael' anymore do they? Michael was right, everytime something gets released with his name attached, there's always some legal shit flying about. The timing of this release was a coincidence? Sure it was coming up to Xmas but it coincided with this trial too. SONY aren't stupid.
I find people who complain Michael lost his soulfulness post Thriller, miss out on many of the wonderful vocal deliveries MJ gave on each album that followed.
Sure HiStory was an angrier album (and the guy had a lot to be pissed at) but you can't deny the soul and richness in his voice that is there in tracks like Stranger In Moscow, Earth Song, You Are Not Alone, Childhood, Little Susie, Smile, and even more so on Invincible that many fans slammed for having too many slo-jams on it. Tracks like Butterflies, Break of Dawn, Whatever Happens, Speechless, Don't Walk Away, Heaven Can Wait, You Are My Life, Cry, and Lost Children show Michael still had range, control, soul and smoothness in his voice.
I do have the Bad and Dangerous albums, so I know how he sounds like on these albums. Some songs were better than others. However I wouldn't call either one of those albums masterpieces. He did nothing new in either albums. I I lent History from a friend, but I never got into it, all. YANA and Earth song, the two big hits did nothing for me. Infact very little of his latter music touched me in the same way "Human Nature" did, or even some of his J5 songs such as "Darling Dear". I also have albums like Going Places, Destiny and Triumph. These albums are so underrated. His vocals alone blow away his vocals on Dangerous, History etc away. I say it again his vocals worsened with age, it is no coincidence that he started to mine in earnest during the Dangerous tours.
Something about Michael being too weak to do the concerts, of course he said he "got better". How could've it been BOTH!?
Clarifying - he said Michael turned up to a rehearsal on June 19 and seemed a bit out of it and lost - so Kenny sent him home. He also said the last few rehearsals Mike was back to himself - the Michael we all knew.
He didn't say Michael was too weak to do the concerts - as is being insinuated by some headlines - he was saying Michael was too weak for that day's rehearsal.
"I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

I think I'm gonna cry...
WHY DIDN'T HE DO SOMETHING THEN!? It's funny that now they say all this...Karen said it, Michael Bush said it, and now Kenny. What the hell really? I mean...I think some fans asked Karen if Michael was too thin or weak...and she said no, he's fine. He's gonna wow everyone.
^^ As for This Is It - I think the film did a good thing for Michael. It was "rushed" out 4 months after Michael's death because people wanted to see the footage - and it did a great job in reminding people about his brilliance and what could have been. It also went a long way in the general public's mind to disway the "unfit" and "on death's door" reports that were circulating at the time.
A year after his death, the general public wouldn't have cared that much about seeing it.
I for one was glad it was released when it was and that a lot of people got to see MJ in his element.
"I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"
So I guess he choose to mine alot more at his concerts, too...if that were the case not a very good decision.
I don't know what the reasoning behind that was, but you know what? Nothing anyone can do about it now. It was his choice. What's done is done. All those people had every opportunity to walk out or protest the concert. If they didn't then they obviously didn't notice or care to and thought it was worth it to watch the entire thing. Maybe it was a bad decision, but maybe there was a good reason...or maybe there wasn't. None of us know.
But should that ruin the legacy of his 40+ year career?
Also, reading all this Murray trial news makes me sad. I have a bad feeling that I'm going to be finding some things out that I would like not to know of.

Thats funny that its the way his voice sounded or the era that touched you. To me specific songs and albums touch me. I totally get the way you feel about those Jacksons albums like Destiny and Triumph, I go crazy listening to them they're that good, yet I cannot for the life of me get into Off The Wall or Thriller unless I'm working out. History and Dangerous are far superior albums to me than them two, which might have to do with the fact that I get touched by subject matter. I personally prefer Michael when hes singing about his insecurities/injustices than love and girls which is what Destiny/Triumph have more in common with Dangerous/History rather than Thriller and Off The Wall which is more pure fluff topics. So its not a case of era vs era for everyone.

It could have waited why should they rush it out because people would lose interest? Lose interest for what ? He’s Michael Jackson the interest should always be there but no it was just the hot thing at the moment also known as the bandwagoners.

That's why I'm not going to be following it as closely as others

SO WHY ARE THEY COMING OUT NOW!?
Has something to do with green paperbacks.
And these were considered some of Michael's closest friends. I think the only person who's been true to Michael was Stevie...and maybe Prince (haven't heard anything too bad coming out of Prince about Michael).

Yes he's Michael Jackson - but by that argument then the 'Michael' album should be number 1 all over the world and it isn't. I think they waited the right amount of time for Michael, and I also think they waited the right amount of time for releasing This Is It. It was a fitting tribute and documentation of what the man was preparing for the world, released at a time when it had the greatest impact and the world had the biggest interest in it. It did a lot for the image of Michael and got the focus back on the talent he was.

According to Sky News.

Keyword : BANDWAGONERS like I been saying you just said yourself it was best they released the movie at that time because people had interest and I said it shouldn't have matter which time they did it his name alone should have gain interest but this was not the case. He was the hot shit for the moment at that time and now he's not. I understand Completely what you saying. At the end of the day they took advantage to profit from it I have no problem with the film it was the timing of the film. I don't think it did anything really.

I don't believe that. Sky News is the authority since when? I know one of the sons was close by...Prince I think it was.
