Interesting Katt. Im sure Morrisey and Johnny Marr lost their court case against the other two members of the Smiths over writing royalties. I cant remember their names or if in fact they won. Also, Mr Oizo, isnt that Flat Eric?

Morrisey and Marr claimed 80% performance royalties leaving Rourke and Joyce with 20%. (Composing royalties were never disputed). Rourke and Joyce sued for what they considered was their rightful share. Morrisey and Marr disputed, claiming that Rourke and Joyce were aware of this 80/20 arrangement and had agreed to it. No written contract existed between the four of them.

Rourke's action failed because he had previously settled for a lesser amount in lieu of the 25% share. Joyce's claim was upheld, and Morrisey's evidence in court was criticised by the judge. Marr paid up £1.25 million, but Morrisey appealed and lost.

With Morrisey's assets outside of the UK, and settlement with Joyce unforthcoming, Joyce was forced to seek redress by securing charges over the homes of Morrisey's mother and sister, preventing dealings in the properties until the debt is settled. In interview, Morrisey remains bitter and has claimed he (and his relatives) will not yield without exhausting all legal avenues.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
