I like it. I was wondering what was happening with his new album because I could've sworn it was supposed to had come out this year. Be that as it may, I'm still checking for it. I've always liked Lupe ever since he came out with "Kick, Push". He's one of hip hops most underrated artists for sure. I'm aware of Lupe, but I've never been a huge fan. Probably check out more of his music now. This video was featured on a music site I visit because it samples Modest Mouse. I started it playing and then went over to a different tab. When it got to the part about "I hope your son don't have a gun" I was like, "wait, that doesn't sound very gansta". Went back and listened to the entire song again and realized it's REALLY positive. "The show" is clearly a metaphor for life, not a concert, club, partying, etc. Such a nice change. The entire song is really nothing like about 99% of the hip-hop I've heard in the last couple years. I dig it. Hope it gets some airplay. | |
