i would say 1987

That's are hard choice because every single year from around 1977 until 1984 was great.

I guess my favorites are 1979 and 1982.

I forgot about that year, you're absolutely right. 1991 had a decent one (Guns 'n' Roses, Nirvana, Michael, Patti, etc.) but 1992 definitely outperformed it.
