I have an old videocassette compilation somewhere with the videos from this album. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I kinda forgot Vanessa was a singer. I was used to seeing her on Ugly Betty. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Her version of "What Child Is This?" is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

The Comfort Zone marked one of the sexiest phases in her recording era. She conveyed seduction and class with a pop sensibility. I love the CD.

Love love love me some fast song Vanessa. I know she never wanted to be a dance diva but damn, the genre just works with her vocals. Space for sale...

Bit too "housey" for me (or house pop). Kind of meanders along.

Never heard that one, but I do own (and like) another christmas song she did called "go tell it to the mountain/Mary had a baby" off David Fosters christmas CD. Love the production/mixing on it.
