What is considered "Talent" or "Gifts"?

I mean , don't mind me, but we seem to be judging alot to who is a good singer this and who is a good dancer that. Look, I believe everyone has talent, they just gotta find it. Whether it is writing, painting, singing etc. YOu can have multiple talents and gifts, they're synonymous. God gave it to us in order to bless people with it. I am just wondering, in our society and others, what constitutes a good or like innovative or fresh "talent"? I am not talking about Justin Bieber nonsense or High School Musical bullcrap. I am talking really dirty, gritty, give it to you all out talent, something unique. I mean you can have good and bad talent right? How do you know how to reconignize it? After you reconignize it then what?? Does it depend on the audience looking at the person or through a diffrent set of eyes? You get it? NO? I mean how do you know when something is talent? and whether it is good or not and worth persuing? Name some people in whatever occupation you think has talent. . . I was looking at another thread on this forum and it ignited an idea in me, what can i say?? Thanks fellow thread lol

What Michael had was a gift, what Usher has, is talent.

Gift is natural. Talent takes hard work and time to improve. There are naturally gifted singers, writer, producers, etc. But then there those that need training and practice to get it right.

Talent is ability and gift is unprecedented ability.

For example, a singer can have the ability to sing (i.e. be talented), but someone who's gifted will sing in an 8-octave vocal range.

Maybe it's not the best example, but I stand by my first sentence.

I don't know about that, Timmy. I think what Maxwell has is a gift as well. The problem is, he has taken so long between albums, that some people are still unconvinced on whether or not is a LEGIT gift or not. For example, Would you place, Maxwell and Usher in the same category? Usher, has talent, but by no means is it a gift. Jamie Foxx, has a GOD given gift that he has no idea, what to do with. The result is it has turned into, (as Blaque, so brilliantly put), an unfocused talent.

Well Maxwell has dealt with some issues with the industry. From what I'm hearing, he's great at what he does but I always felt he's never used it to whatever ability or gift he MAY have, like I saw with Marvin. I believe he's as unfocused as Usher and Jamie IMHO.
