I know what you mean , you mean albums like MJ with thriller, Janet with ryhthm nation and prince purple rain ....etc...

But she already released great albums , as I said, daydream is one of them, she's been in the business for more than 20 years , it's unfair to compare her to yawnce and shitney spears , Mariah is amazing vocalist and has many great memorable songs in her catalogue , whether you a fan or not , give credit where credit is due , comparing her to other cats is unfair , Longevity in the music business should be taken into consideration.

The Janet. , Rythm Nation, Velvet Rope, Damita Jo, AFY and Control albums are just solid albums... that aren't boring and each album truthfully has its own sound...

Now if i had said rihanna i could see what you mean ... and i do believe someone will break mariah's record for female with most number 1s (number ones really mean nothing, atleast nowadays)..... it will probably be beyonce..and i hate to say it cause janet should have as many or atleast more than beyonce and rihanna...

Janet got her 10 #1's during a time people actually went to stores and purchased records. Rihanna is a single's artist who benefits from the iTunes era.

I am still wondering why anyone would put Beyonce and Janet in the same category. There is NOTHING about them that is similar. Beyonce is a SINGER. She can dance her ass off. She is a great ENTERTAINER. Janet and Britney would be better compared. They both have paper thin voices. They both DANCE. They both use SEX to sell their albums and at their concerts, etc. Again, why is Beyonce compared to Janet? Is it jealousy? Are Janet fans threatened by Beyonce's success? If you are going to compare Beyonce to another female, compare her to someone who can actually sing, such as Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera,etc. not Janet.

Beyonce IS an icon. That doesn't take away from the fact that Janet has had a 30-plus year old career. Beyonce has worked her ass off to get where she is today. No one has given her a pass. She deserves every ounce of success that she has. It is pathetic that you Janet fans can't accept that Beyonce is very successful and is already an icon at this stage of her career. Bey is not only a great singer, she is a wonderful dancer and her concerts are top-notch. I would put her songwriting in the same class as Janet and you can take that any way you want it.
