So let me get this straight, You don't like a lot of Michael's music because he "hee-hees" too much?

lol

Well, it's all part of his music being over-done and I don't like music that is over-done. Also I don't think his latter music has age well. OFF The Wall still sounds fresher than Bad and Dangerous. "Let Me Show You the Way to Go" which is well over 30 years old, sounds fresher than practically everything he did in the last 20 years of his career.

Exactly!

Vibe Michael Jackson piece: After attending a show by his old friend and rival Prince at the Palms hotel with Will, MJ invited him to have breakfast at his house. “We’ve always been compared to each other, but we are so different,” Michael said of the Purple One, who had made a point of showing off for Will and Jackson, jamming in fron...t of them with his bass guitar.

It's been often documented that there was a friendship of sorts between these two - but most fans don't wanna recognise it from both camps. Michael used to send Prince videos of old James Brown shows at Paisley Park, etc.

But the media (and some fans) don't want to recognise this and rather live in the media made rivalry of the 80s.

Yep. And aside from Prince covering "I Want You Back", "Shake Your Body" and "I Can't Help It" since MJ passed, he and the NPG covered "Billie Jean" back in 2001. And most people also don't know that MJ instructed his band to jam on "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" from Sign O' The Times during the Bad Tour. I have the audio of them doing it, and it's tight as fuck.

I commented on the new MJ album, "In that he was a perfectionist, I don't think he woulda put it out if he was alive." I never said boycott.

All these "so called" MJ fans with all this negativity coming outta their mouths. Do you REALLY think that's what Mike stood for? Really...

...I never commented on how good or bad the album was. I said it was incomplete. Mike woulda NEVER released incomplete work. PERIOD.

A true MJ fan understands that positivity was his aim as well as perfection in art. If you like the album, go get it. Never said not to. LUV

Yea! I'm aware of this. Was just trying to get the word out. Prince can actually reveal the truth. But i guess as he sees it. He knows that is all that matters....

I remember that story. Will.I.Am told a different version of it

http://lacienegasmiled.wo...ce/prince/

Crave online Interview With Will.I.Am, 2007

Will.i.am: I don’t know but I know that one time I was in Vegas and [Michael Jackson's] like, “Oh, I heard you’re in Vegas.”

I was like, “Yeah, we have a show tonight. Can you come?”

“What time you guys go on?”

We go on at 9 o’clock. I swear to God, “Oh, rats.” He said rats. “Oh, rats, I can’t. I’ve got to put the kids to sleep.”

All right, well after we perform with the Peas, I’m performing with Prince. You should come to the show. So Prince invited me to perform with him at the Palms. Maybe you can come see me perform with Prince.

So Michael Jackson says, “Oh really? I’d love to. Call Prince and see if it’s cool.” I call Prince’s assistant. She’s like sure. So I’m like, “Yo, Mike, it’s great.”

Come on, dude. This sh*t ain’t real. To me, that that happened, it sounds like a big ass lie, right? Yeah, I’ll just call Prince and then bring Michael Jackson but it’s the realest sh*t. So, I’m late. I’m late. I’m in the cab, like aw, man, what a time to be f*ckin’ late. I’m always late and I’m late for Michael Jackson to see me perform with Prince.

So I hop off the cab and I’m running in Las Vegas. I’m running and people are like, “Wyclef!”

I’m like f*ck you, right? Then I run and I get to the place and I perform for Prince and I walk off stage and Michael’s there.

He’s like, “That was awesome. I didn’t know you rapped.” I was like, “What? You don’t know I rap? I’m in the Black Eyed Peas.”

“I didn’t think it was you that was the rapper. I thought it was the other guy.”

I was like, “No, that’s me, dude.”

“You’re awesome, that was awesome. We need to do something like that on my record where you rap and I sing.” Yeah, but that was a great experience to have Mike see me perform with Prince. It was nuts. That’s great, cool.

German interview with Will.I.Am, 2007

Sp: You’ve also worked with Prince? The man has shocked the recording industry, by giving away his new CD in Great Britain for free with a newspaper.

Will.i.am: A visionaire. I performed with him. A few months ago,I was with the Black Eyed Peas in Las Vegas. Prince calls me, he played in a Casino and asks, “You want to perform with me tonight?” Sure, I say, of course! The next day his assistant called me and said: “Prince would like to know if you want to come along this evening too.” Want to? What’s more cool than to play with Prince? Right, to play with him two days in a row! A few minutes later I get a further call: “Hey, it’s Mike, wat are you doing?” Mike? Michael Jackson? Wow! He had changed studios at that time, from Ireland to Las Vegas. I say: “Hey, I’m playing with Prince here tonight.”

“Prince? That is great!”

“You should come!”

“Really? That would be cool!”

“That would be really cool!”

“Okay, I’ll come.” Imagine that: I’m playing with Prince, and Michael Jackson sits in the audience! Holy ish! What chance is there to get a call from Prince and then one from Michael Jackson within ten minutes?

Sp: that chance is zero.

Will.i.am: Right. Okay, I head for the concert in the early evening and – get stuck in traffic! I think by myself, @#$%, this is the worst time to be stuck ! So I jump out of the car and start to run. I make it at the last second into the club. Everything goes smoothly, after three minutes I ‘m back from the stage, Prince still yells in the microphone “Give it up for Will.i.am!” I creep into the hall and sit down to the table of – Michael Jackson. So he really came!

“What did you think of me?”, I ask him.

He answers: “I did not know you rapped.”

Now I ask you? The man lets me fly to bloody Ireland for a few photographs, and he doesn’t even know that I am not only a producer, but also a rapper!

I say: “Have you never heard my music, or looked at my videos? I @#$#%’ am the main rapper of the Black Eyed Peas!” Anyways. Besides Michael Jackson sits the actor Chris Tucker, and then Prince comes down from the stage to us…

Sp: … and sees Michael Jackson sitting at the table with you?

Will.i.am: Yo. He had his bass still strapped on and stops at our table. So there we sit : Michael Jackson, Chris Tucker and I. Prince stands directly before Michael Jackson and improvises on the bass: Slap! He does nothing- nothing! – and says nothing! Simply plays . What a scene! When Prince is again back on stage, Michael Jackson says to me: “Prince played his bass in the middle of my face! What’s up with that?” Now now, I say: “you are finally incognito here! Imagine that Prince would have said: ‘and by the way Michael Jackson is sitting here.’ The people are already excited because of Prince, let alone knowing you’re also here!” Yep, that was it then, the craziest night of my life.

Sp: And when you tell this story, nobody believes you.

Will.i.am: I would not even believe it! But I have to say: It is true. Each word. The next morning I had breakfast with Michael Jackson, we worked a bit on songs together – and that was the last time that I saw him.

I just wanna say I f*cking love the new album!

SO GLAD I didn't listen to the nay-sayers and fans who were boycotting the album. Maybe about two tracks had questionable vocals but other than that, I have no complaints.

I was really expecting the album to be crap, but I'm thrilled with it.

Not one bad song for me. I love every song. So much better than I was expecting it to be.

^^^^Wow Timmy84, that was a real serious post. I'm glad I figured out what was giving my comp some serious lag recently, otherwise it would have killed it. lol

Speaking of MJ bg vocals, I love collecting remixes and one I had read: All I Do by Stevie Wonder feat. Michael Jackson. It reads Cleptomaniacs v. Stevie Wonder White Label remix or something. At first like I was like "Psshhh. Whatever. They know that boy isn't on there." Then afterwards...on the actual song that I obtained some significant time later, not the remixed one I had, I realized he was on there. =/ Isn't David Ruffin on there with him though?

I think it's Eddie Levert singing on backing vocals with MJ on 'All I Do'.

If you include '2300 Jackson Street', 'We Be Ballin' (Ice Cube & Shaq), 'What More Can I Give' & Ride with Me (Rodney Jerkins)that's mostly all the songs MJ has sung vocals on. IIRC, I read that Bryan Loren is singing backing vocals on 'Do The Bartman' although it has been said to be MJ singing on the song before.

Also, I found a full version of 'Starlight/Starlight Sun' on Youtube, is that real or fan-made?. There's also a demo of 'Baby Be Mine' on YT too, which has slightly different lyrics and arrangment too.

Yes, the Starlight and Baby Be Mine demos are 100% authentic. A bunch of Thriller demos/outtakes leaked last year in lossless quality.

There is also a writer's demo to Human Nature and Carousel (MJ doesn't feature), as well as the full version of Carousel. If a demo with Mike singing to Human Nature and The Lady In My Life is relaesed/leaks, there will be some form of demo to every track on Thriller.

Beat It

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - Both released on This Is It soundtrack

Billie Jean Demo - Full version leaked, short version released on Thriller SE

The Girl Is Mine Demo - Released on The Girl Is Min 2008 Single

Baby Be Mine - Leaked

Wow, could you send it to me, please?

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

AND Luther too biggrin

No, luther ain't on there. lol Luther is on Part Time Lover though. It's Mike, Eddie levert and Walter Williams of the O'Jays and Betty Wright.

So lets recap the songs that make up MICHAEL..just to be clear.

1) Hold My Hand - Recorded in 2007/2008, originally meant to be Akon's

lead single but then because it leaked it was scrapped. Also I remember

something about a music video being filmed. Anyone remember the details?

2) Hollywood Tonight - Recorded for Invincible

3) Keep Your Head Up - Recorded in 2007 in NJ. (Doubtful it is MJ)

4) The Way You Love Me - Recorded in 2004 and Michael reworked it

in 2009 with Neff-U via the telephone.

5) Monster - Recorded in 2007 in NJ. (Doubtful it is MJ) 50 Cent was added

because Michael really wanted to work with him, according to Teddy Riley in a recent interview.

6) Best of Joy - One of the last songs Michael ever recorded in 2009 in LA. sad

7) Breaking News - Recorded in 2007 in NJ. (Doubtful it is MJ)

8) Another Day - Recorded for Invincible. Lenny reworked it after MJ's passing.

9) Behind The Mask - Recorded for Thriller. Production added later by John McClain

AND Teddy Riley..? or just John McClain?

10) Much Too Soon - Recorded for Thriller. Reworked by John McClain

Correct?

I was really looking forward to hearing "A Place With No Name" but I guess it wasn't a proper fit for the sound of the album.. but I agree with you.. I doubt any of those songs that came from the NJ sessions are actually Michael at all.

Mj & Prince were friends.

I think they admired each other in their own little way, I remember listening to MJ's last interviews with Ebony and he mentioned how he was glad that he and Prince opened the doors for other black artists to be played on MTV. I really hate they didn't work together.. or DID THEY?? lol
