I've not bought 'Michael' and won't be doing so, i've got every studio album he's ever appeared on too. I feel no guilt. This lacks his touch, it's not his art. It's fucking idiots tracing, lying and botching what good there might have been. Fuck that shit.

I bought Take That's album for somebody's Xmas present, i'm presuming they outsold this outrageous con. Oh well.

Onwards to the OTW re-release.

It's a shame they can't just do a boxset (or even just a single disc if they have to spread it out) of outtakes ala Dylans "bootleg series", prince's "crystal ball", Springsteens "tracks" etc... and just leave them as they were. Of course Mike won't have a quarter as many completed tracks as the guys I mentioned but I reckon he has a couple dozen finished tracks give or take a few. Maybe even a few outtakes with his brothers aswell?

I loved the almost finished track "for all time" when it leaked, and then Michael himself put on a new horrible bridge and it ruined the song LOL. Thank God for the gorgeous leaked original version....

"Buffalo bill" anyone LOL. Adult "I'll be there" etc... and what about the 50 cent duet "trial of the century" LOL. Greatest fake song prank ever LOL. In the heat of the molestation trial, did anyone really think Mike would have the audacity and sheer stupidity to record a song called "trial of the century" with of all people 50 cent LOL lol I certainly laughed.

I too think they should've done a box set or should in the next couple of years. That whole "he only left 20 songs behind" crap is so ridiculous lol

They said fastest, not best lol

That's how I meant it. I figured "Michael" wouldnt sell faster than the albums released in the last 20 years (except for Invincible, which was slow)... considering the boycotts that fans are doing as well the illegal downloads this day and age. I knew the album would do well, but didn't expect it to do better than prior albums in the last 20 years.

I'm sure 'Vince broke 100,000 first week in the UK. I'm positive i read that. It dropped off fast.

LOL, I see your point. It is unusually low of course but then "this is it" OST only made no 3 in the UK. But yes of course Sony and the estate must be dissapointed. I think they expected "hold my hand" to take off in the US and UK and it just hasn't.

I was torn about this album. I didn't want to buy it 'cause I know that those 3 Casico songs are not him, but this would have been the first MJ album that I wouldn't own. My problem was solved when I got it during a Christmas gift exchange at work. lol I must admit, I like the damn CD more than I like Invincible. And my 2 yr olds adore "hollywood tonight." I have that damn song on repeat. lol

Invincible had some goofy ass songs. lol Besides "butterflies" and "You rock my world," I didn't really enjoy that CD too much.

I do believe that Holllywood Tonight is MJ.....it just sounds auto-tuned or distorted. But even with the distortion, it sounds more like MJ than those Casicso (sp) songs. I like the Casicos songs and I believe MJ wrote them, but sorry..... that ain't him singing.

Break of Dawn, Heaven Can Wait, You Rock My World, Butterflies and Whatever Happens were my favorites. I think he was trying to keep up with the young crowd on that one imo. I think it's better than "Michael" though.

"INVINCIBLE" sold 110,000 and debut @#1.

"NUMBER ONES" sold 118,157 and debut @ #1.

"MICHAEL" sold 113,146 and debut @ #4.

If it were any other sales week during the year, he would have been #1 so I don't think his total is unusually low.

"MICHAEL" certainly beats the first week sales of his recent compilations/reissues in the UK ("ESSENTIAL" 45,527 #2; "THRILLER 25" 41,184 #3; "KING OF POP" 25,873 #5; and "THIS IS IT" 78,097 #3).

Also, "Hold My Hand" has turned out to be a very decent worldwide hit all things considered charting in the Top 20 and Top 10 in many countries. It's his 42nd UK Top 10 hit as a solo artist which is a huge deal since he's one of the rare few whose charted a Top 10 in five consecutive decades: 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, and 10's.

Actually, I think you can do backing vocals without being credited as a favor. I'm pretty sure lots of artists have appeared as backing vocalists on other people's albums without being credited. Just like MJ was allowed to be on TV at that abc special in 2001, he just couldn't be credited at all.

MJ did backing vocals on this song too and you can barely hear him:

Plus, I think Quincy was a fan of the Doobie Bros. and/or Michael McDonald.

That was one of the songs from the same session as Monster/Breaking News/Keep Your Head Up.

Remember - there's supposedly 10 or 12 of these songs. If you include that one and Carry On, that's only what, 5? Still 5 - 7 left out there. I hope they're all shelved permanently.

Yeah...

Unfortunately...I have a feeling for the duets project they will use one of those tracks. I always said if they used three (mostly fake) songs for the FIRST music project...Then the future don't look so bright.

Yep, this being the first project, they had the whole pool of unreleased material to work with. And if this is the best they can do, then I'm not counting on any future releases being much better.

My 2 cents on the Cascio tracks are that they were perhaps intended for MJ to sing on, but they never got completed, so they had an soundalike do like guide vocals/demos of the songs for MJ to record at a later date. Also, I read MJ worked with Wyclef, Babyface, will.i.am, Sisqo of Dru Hill & Ne-Yo amongst others, so I'm guessing there were songs/demos completed, which maybe will be released in the future.
