That's probably one of the most real pics from 2001 MSG concerts.

A lot of the pictures, MJ has been dancing for hours and there is no sweat. Looks like his makeup is on perfect like he just started. Those are the fake pics

I love all the songs so im not even gonna comparee. Im not meaning to put MJ's style down after Bad, but it was just different. For example the song "This Time Around" featuring Biggie in 1995....That type of vocal style is different from the Triumph, Thriller, Off The Wall Mike on FAST TRACKS

Slow Jams MJ could throw down until he was 90 years old if he were still alive. Its the dance tracks where he started sounding different. Im sure it was due to age. Cant keep that baby voice forever

[Edited 12/17/10 23:51pm]

Nelson George referenced "Jam" as a new type of singing which was influential into the Britney/Backstreet boys era, heavy staccato, short melody lines, Nelson called it a "clever singer's response to mc's". that sounds pretty sensible to me, don't know what mike's real reasons were though, at least he had the sense not to rap, I hate when my heroes try to stay current, it's beneath them.

That picture looks photoshopped for some reason, I'm sure Michael didn't rip his shirt off during the performances lol

It is photoshopped -you can tell by the telltale cloning on his chest the same textures repeating over and over.

Ok. I was wondering because I don't recall him wearing an outfit at MSG with his chest bared like that. I know he must've worn that sequin jacket for Billie Jean, but maybe the chest part was the only thing that was photoshopped.

I forgot Nelson George had said that. I think he also pointed that out for Beyonce taking that as an influence as well. Overall, when I thought about that, I thought it was a pretty good observation. I think that out of all of the MJ songs where I have no idea what he was saying, Jam, and that part in Earth Song are the only times where I, absolutely, have no clue as to what he's saying. At all. Even after almost 20 years. I am also grateful that MJ decided to leave the rapping to the pros and, instead, find a way to incorporate the influence, somehow, into his own music.

Though, if there is footage of him rapping an entire song out there, I have no shame. I will watch it regardless.

well, it does sound very plausible, and truth be told, the half-sing, half-talk style has always been a part of funk music, the Temptations did it fantastic, probably better than anyone. I loved michaels later developments, I really, really did, we can only speculate what might have been had he not been hounded so damned much. Even 3 more albums of his usual best would have been fantastic. I feel for the man so much, not a day goes by that I don't think "well, everyone has problems, no one has a trouble free life, look at the crap they put Mike through". As a musician myself, i won't even attempt to write if I don't have everything in order, for me it's just to taxing and consuming, I understand why mike was distracted.

Yes! Or maybe he didn't want to bother slathering makeup on his chest anymore. The vitiligo patches were obvious there (from the History tour).

Embargoed until 7pm December 19th 2010:

‘Michael’ – Michael Jackson’s fastest selling studio album in 20 years marks the Return Of The King Of Pop

Following the highly anticipated release on December 13th of Michael Jackson’s new studio album entitled ‘Michael,’ The King of Pop is once again dominating the UK charts.

This week the album achieves the biggest opening week for a new Michael Jackson studio album in the UK since ‘Dangerous’ in 1991, almost 20 years ago. Selling over 113k copies and entering at No.4, ‘Michael’ continues the musical legacy of Jackson that started over 40 years ago. The album is Jackson’s 19th to reach the UK Top 10, while the lead single ‘Hold My Hand (Duet With Akon)’ extends Jackson’s incredible run of success to 55 UK Top 10 hits; his first being ‘I Want You Back’ in 1970, 4 decades ago.

Critics and fans have hailed the new album as “Brilliant” with “Stunning collaborations” and “Certainly worthy of the legacy of the King Of Pop;” proclaiming that it “Bursts with verve and confidence with lots of inspirational, uplifting anthems and melodic, sweetly sung ballads.”

HMV’s Gennaro Castaldo adds to the phenomenon:
"What was particularly evident this week was the large number of younger customers buying Michael's album in our stores. Michael's ability to inspire clearly remains undiminished, and I would say that we are witnessing the torch being passed on to a new generation of fans, who will continue to believe in the power of his music to ensure that his unique legacy remains secure."

Michael Jackson has 9 UK No.1 albums and 9 UK No.1 singles.

Yep that's the section I ment. Apparently there's a Teddy Riley acetate with an 8 minute version where MJ raps a complete verse.

And yet it's only no. 4 in the UK with 113,000 copies sold this week. For a place a hell of alot smaller then the US, thats not a bad number if comparing UK and US sales.

"Invincible" really did badly in the UK in comparison to other albums. Only 1x platinum I think yet when "number ones" was release first time round, it did 4x platinum if abit more I think?

LOL, I see your point. It is unusually low of course but then "this is it" OST only made no 3 in the UK. But yes of course Sony and the estate must be dissapointed. I think they expected "hold my hand" to take off in the US and UK and it just hasn't.

nod I don't think it should've been the lead single. Behind The Mask or Hollywood Tonight should've been the choice instead

I've not bought 'Michael' and won't be doing so, i've got every studio album he's ever appeared on too. I feel no guilt. This lacks his touch, it's not his art. It's fucking idiots tracing, lying and botching what good there might have been. Fuck that shit.

I bought Take That's album for somebody's Xmas present, i'm presuming they outsold this outrageous con. Oh well.

That's how I meant it. I figured "Michael" wouldnt sell faster than the albums released in the last 20 years (except for Invincible, which was slow)... considering the boycotts that fans are doing as well the illegal downloads this day and age. I knew the album would do well, but didn't expect it to do better than prior albums in the last 20 years.

It's a shame they can't just do a boxset (or even just a single disc if they have to spread it out) of outtakes ala Dylans "bootleg series", prince's "crystal ball", Springsteens "tracks" etc... and just leave them as they were. Of course Mike won't have a quarter as many completed tracks as the guys I mentioned but I reckon he has a couple dozen finished tracks give or take a few. Maybe even a few outtakes with his brothers aswell?

I loved the almost finished track "for all time" when it leaked, and then Michael himself put on a new horrible bridge and it ruined the song LOL. Thank God for the gorgeous leaked original version....

"Buffalo bill" anyone LOL. Adult "I'll be there" etc... and what about the 50 cent duet "trial of the century" LOL. Greatest fake song prank ever LOL. In the heat of the molestation trial, did anyone really think Mike would have the audacity and sheer stupidity to record a song called "trial of the century" with of all people 50 cent LOL lol I certainly laughed.
