It is a lovely piece.
I'm showing all versions (singles, LP's, CD's & cassettes) from 1983-1993 (from USA, France, Europe, & Japan) clocking in at 4:34.
For some aodd reason, the 1994 Euopean versions were 2 secs longer @ 4:36.
In 1998, there was a Japan only limited edition CD compilation that features a live version of the track @ 4:43.
Soooooo....the answer is pretty much "not really".....by what I found. Funk Is It's Own Reward

One of my favorite albums of all time. Got turned on to it by Alex Paterson from The Orb back when I was first getting into the ambient/chill music. As far as I know there's just the one studio version and the live version that JamFanHot mentioned.

Japanese singer Utada took the piece and transformed it into a pop song:
Personally, I love it.

Cheers. It is a beautiful piece, and if any instrumental deserved to be extended, it's probably this.
Have not seen the movie either.

Love this album too, shame it's not more widely available. It's a good film too. About the 2 seconds, it's a weird thing, but it used to be thought that Europeans liked a higher bpm, so music was sometimetimes speeded up a tad for the European market, you can see this on Prince's 12" 's from the 80s. However, it that were the case here, the European versions would be slower, not faster.

I've always loved "Forbidden Colours" which was recoreded with David Sylvian and appeared on the same album.

I Ryuichi Sakamoto Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

I have a lot of Sakamoto releases in which the tune is reinvented or remixed (as "MCMrL" or "Forbidden Colours" with David Sylvian), but as far as I know there is only one version that is a proper extended version.
It is a 7:29 minutes "remix" available on the "We Love You" 12" and CDS 1991 release.
Anyway, it's really a dance remix so much of the magic mood of the normal version get lost.
If I can suggest something, check the "1996" CD version or the "Cinemage" version. They are simply beautiful.
