Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Michael, Ralph and Johnny! With another New Edition reunion on the horizon (Bobby maybe/may not be included!)...I was thinkin back about my favorite NE songs...they had many...and they were great live...I remember Johnny Gill TEARING it up on stage back in '88 on the N.E. HEARTBREAK TOUR with Al B Sure and Bobby Brown (who didnt show up...ya think ol' Whit got it from him??)...that was one of my first concerts and I remember my concert tee was stolen right off my sholders by some big girl and man she ran!
Back to my point...I was diggin up some of my records and decided to pick my favs...I must admit...I'm hits kind of guy myself when it comes to NE...they were ALWAYS on the radio and thier music is a big part of some of my fondest childhood memories! So lets make this an appreciation thread for boy band to end all boy bands! (well sans Jackson 5 of course!).. Pick your favorites... songs? albums? tours? moments? meet & greets? dance moves? My fav songs... 1-MR. TELEPHONE MAN 2-CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN (one of Jam & Lewis' BEST songs) 3-IS THIS THE END 4-COOL IT NOW (includes the first rap I could tear up during 4th grade lunchtime rap-offs!) 5-HEARTBREAK 6-EARTH ANGEL (from 'Under the Blue Moon'..same year as 'Cherry Moon') 7-A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE (IS ALL IT TAKES) 8-IF IT ISNT LOVE 9-CANDY GIRL 10-ALL FOR LOVE Fav albums...HEARTBREAK and NEW EDITION (self titled) Fav member...RALPH..then JOHNNY Fav solo project...JOHNNY GILL's 1990 solo album peace [This message was edited Thu Jan 30 23:54:03 PST 2003 by VANITYSprisonBYTCH] Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I dig all those Jams also "did you get it yet"?I saw them in 88 as well.Bobby was huge that year&was doing His own thing."Pop Corn Love" was cool for it's time as well.they don't get enough due IMHO.Maurice Starr helped put them on the Map but He said He had to get Bigger&find a White Act&He did with New Kids on the Block.when I see these Boy Groups they are more a reflection of New Editon than the J5 because these Acts are more connected from that 80's foundation.the J5 had a more a Kid/Adult vibe.but they set a standard&had the right Lead-Singer for down the road.New Edtion though was like Saturday Night Live:they sprung off so many Hit Acts from within but never quite cashed in within fully IMHO.NEw Editon though gets props from me. mistermaxxx
