Laura Izibor- Yay or Nay

Laura Elizabeth Arabosa Izibor (born 13 May 1987) is an Irish recording artist, musician and producer. She won the RTÉ 2fm song contest while still in secondary school. She went on to win an award at the 2006 Meteor Music Awards.[1] She also performed at that year's Electric Picnic music festival and Music Ireland 2007. Izibor has opened for Aretha Franklin, India.Arie, Estelle, Maxwell and John Legend on tour.

Her debut album, Let the Truth Be Told, was released in Ireland on Friday 8 May 2009, and in the UK on Monday 18 May with a U.S. release to follow on 16 June.

Izibor is currently featured in The CW television show, One Tree Hill.[2], where she plays Erin Macree.

A new up and coming artist. I love her songs: If tonight is my last, From my heart to yours, and Mmmm. Tell me what you guys think.

I was here months ago trying to praise the album but the "org" wasn't feeling it at all....

I LOVE the album and have gave it out as a gift to get folks off that top forty BS on the radio.

I hope she doesn't wait to do another album since she's on t.v now.

MMM is incredible...it brings so much emotion out of me...I mean literally to tears.

If tonite is my last....great wedding song, but once again folks are sleeping on that one too.

Perfect world......ok she resembles Alicia Keys in this......the strings the tempo I love every note....

I also think she is the cutest thing especially her accent. biggrin

So fucking nay it's not even funny. She irritates me beyond belief.

She's alright. I don't feel one or the other about her. Not a nay, but I probably won't be buying her stuff out of boredom.

I didn't care enough for her vocals to pick up the album. However, "From My Heart To Yours" had all the makings of a perfect pop single. Also, her "What More Can They Do", is a worthy contribution to the For Colored Girls soundtrack.

I saw her live when she opened for Maxwell. She's cute and has a good voice but she does kinda live up to her name.

Laura is-a-bore. She was very Alicia Keys-ish onstage. She needs more up-tempo songs.

I think her first album had enough hits 2 make some look forward to her second one. I think there was enough of a balance between the upbeat, and slower songs. She is young, so I think she'll get better w/time. I saw her on the Monique show awhile back, one of the songs she sang was, If to night is my last, That was the first song she preformed, and that made me curious enough to search her on youtube...who knows she might soar w/much more appearances like that showcasing her talents.

I saw the Alicia Key's comments, and I say to that, that they have different sounds, Laura has a more aggressive sound.
