It wasn't in the US, but I don't know about other countries. The only duet that was a single was Ebony and Ivory.

Great Song. Other faves from Wonder/Mac around that time period:

Wonder: Front Line, Do I Do, Ribbon In The Sky, That Girl: The Original Musiquarium was a greatest hits collection with 4 new songs. 4 new tracks on a GH Album was unheard of in those days, but Stevie Delivered on all of them. Front Line is always associated in my mind with "What's That You're Doing,' simply due to it being a great ingored track.

McCartney: The Pound Is Sinking, Somebody Who Cares, Ballroom Dancing, Here Today...Paul had released several solo albums by 1982, but to me, this one was the closest he would ever come to matching the level of songs he had with the Beatles. These four were not hits, but showed him at his prime. If only 1984's "No More Lonely Nights," had been on Tug of War..it would've been HUGE.

'Ebony & Ivory' is probably the most horrible song in history. Total dirge.

I love "Ebony and Ivory". I also didn't know Paul had released his solo version earlier than the duet version. And that solo video is such a mess. But man that last video. I can see Paul is struggling a bit now God bless him but Stevie is still on point. It was good to see them perform that. Thanks for the post.

As far as "What's That You're Doing?", never heard it before. It's okay. I like the hook "Girl I like what you're doing." It almost reminds me of the Beatles "I Want You (She's So Heavy). "She's so heavy...heavy....heavy...." harmonies. Paul's influence?

I have the album on wax and on my Ipod. I like, "Dress me up as a robber", "Here today,(written for John) and "Somebody Who Cares". I play the album, often.
