The former bassist and co-founder of the '70s disco group KC and the Sunshine Band was sentenced in Ohio to seven years in prison for sex charges involving teen boys.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Richard Finch, 56, was found guilty by Licking County Common Pleas Judge W. David Branstool of one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of importuning and seven counts of sexual imposition.
The counts cover seven victims, including three who were from 13 to 16 years old at the time, the paper says.
Finch has been held since his arrest in March.
Finch's former band mate Harry "KC" Casey quickly distanced himself from the musician after the arrest with a statement on the band's website: "The serious allegations confronting Mr. Finch have nothing to do with me nor with KC & the Sunshine Band."
Court records say that Finch had told teens "The music industry is all about sex and drugs" and "If you tell your parents, they're going to ... freak out, they are older and they are not in the business."

Good for his ass. And great for KC to say politely, "fuck him". | |
