I prefer the album version too. The vocals are really emotive. In fact i really dig the whole album, at first i thought it was a little lightweight but i absolutely adore the likes of You Can't Miss What You Can't Measure and Can't Stand The Strain, theyre like classic soul records.
As for the live version of Cosmic Slop on Hardcore Jollies it just seems thrown in for no reason other than filler, it makes no sense being on there.

the original is very passionate sounding, one of my favorite funkadelic jams of all time, but the hardcore jollies version features michael hampton ripping it up on the guitar... damn. that's a tossup for me. sad think i'll play em both right now! smile
